Wouldn't that be something!

Michigan has maintained a desire to land Harbaugh's brother, John, as well, sources said, but the Ravens coach has made it clear he has no interest in leaving Baltimore. Other NFL coaches on the school's radar include New Orleans' Sean Payton, Buffalo's Doug Marrone and Dallas' Jason Garrett (who is expected to sign an extension with the Cowboys shortly after the season).

So the Green Bay win is kind of like the Missouri win for him, he gets these random wins and becomes the new god of coaching... Bills will lose today and it will remind u of the Rutgers loss few years back...

If offered Marrone should bolt and take the Michigan job. That win vs GB last week probably bought him time in Buffalo and by time I mean another season. But still, a job like Michigan doesn't get offered to you often in your lifetime, that is an elite college job. NFL jobs like Buffalo, on par with Buffalo, come open every year. Buffalo is just an NFL job. Michigan is a special college job. There is a difference. Plus if he does well at Michigan he will be able to go back to the NFL in a much better position with a far better franchise.

You better tell these billionaire business concerns about this , they are going to make a bad decision. They just aren't as up on everything as you.

There is nothing random about those wins. The guy can coach, no matter what snarky comments those choking on sour grapes around here can muster up.

And the Bills aren't losing today.

okay bills fan relax ur avatar gave it away...

Aye Yah - hijacked into another Marrone thread. Saint Doug isn't going anywhere - give it a rest Michigan.

Marrone would be stupid to decline the Michigan job if offered. His time at Buffalo has been good, but they have a new owner who isn't going to be patient. He is going to get another year, but Michigan would be a spot he could serious damage and not have to worry about recruiting as much as he did here.

I believe Marrone is right where he wants to be, in the N..L. Even if he is let go by Buffalo next season he stays in the league. He has the resume now to land another H.C. spot or on a staff somewhere. I do not see him going back to the recruiting grind that is needed at the college level.

Doug's not going anywhere , except; The playoffs , the Superbowl , the bank and the ownership suite.

Guy is a great coach, and is where he should be, where the only job is to win. (I wanted him as coach b/4 GRob. I love head coaches who were O-linemen. Automatically smart and understand where good FB starts.)
With a good NFL starter, he goes to the playoffs this year. To consider he is doing this with Kyle Orton and the backfield injuries is amazing.

And to all of the "dream job" folks; unless you married the first girl to whom you said "I love you", just be quiet.

You'd think Marrone would have had at least 3 wives by now. Probably a few more to come.

Recruiting is only a grind if you have to beg kids to come to your school and constantly get turned down. At Michigan, it is much more like selecting the 4 and 5 stars, far easier than here trying to scrounge a class together from UTR and 2/3 star kids.

Understandable.

What I mean by "grind" is the constant travel, video review, contact regulary with family, prospects, coaches and handlers. Keeping all communication avenues open to high school coaches in order to maintain relationships. Countless hours of prospect reviews on film, not only the ongoing recruiting period, but two years plus down the road.

Don't get me wrong, I understand the hours N..L. coaches put in as well, but the college format is clearly a "grind" that takes not only the right person, but that persons family as well to understand and fully embrace the long countless hours away from a normal life.
