OT: Kyle Orton retires

more than 2 QB's will go in the first round. The UCLA kid Hundley is a first rounder most likely and Buffalo will miss on him due to not having a 1st round pick. Maybe another QB as well after the pre-draft process plays out

I think Foles or Petty fit what they would really like to do, which is run a balanced uptempo offense, much like what they did here.

Bills have enough needs on the offensive side of the ball where that first round draft pick could have helped them more than giving up two 1sts and a 4th for a wide receiver. So they may not have gotten a top QB at 19 this year; how about a guard or TE? Near the bottom of the NFL on offensive side and our first pick is at 50. 15 years and counting.
Watkins won the Lions and Vikings games , besides blowing up every other secondary.

Obviously I don't know how badly, but just from watching him, I think he pretty much played hurt almost all year.

You're forgetting God Among Men Jake Locker.

He's just not very good at football though...

Guessing that means he's destined for the Bills.

Your posts this thread have been top notch.

Hundley is not ready to be a starter in the NFL next year. He's more of a project like EJ was when Buffalo drafted him (but a better project).

In all likelihood, Buffalo will try to kick the tires on RG3/Cousins, Cutler, Sam Bradford, etc. and see what they can come up with. Hopefully they'll draft a QB later (though I really don't like this year's class outside of the top 2 or 3).

I expect EJ will get another shot at being the starting QB honestly.

if EJ gets another shot, i hope he rolls the dice ala delhomme, derek anderson, fitz. just chuck it and hope for the best. as the starter, he was more like trent edwards so scared of screwing up. mindset changes once you've been knocked down a peg. i think he said something to that effect about letting er rip. run, keep the ball on the read option for once in your life, worry less about your knee

compared to vick locker ponder and whoever else is on the street, i'd rather give him another shot even if he probably stinks.

I think it's very likely EJ gets another shot. His development should be the focus of Marrone and Hackett's attention throughout the off season. I would bet they also bring a vet and try to coax Orton out of retirement in late July as back up plans.

i'm sure they're all done with orton now. he retired halfway into that pathetic slide against denver. i'd rather have fitz back than orton

clearly Orton is not the answer. i think if all else fails, they may have to look at orton near the end of preseason.

this whole thread is why i have to laugh at all the Eli detractors, not so much the fans of the other teams... we can just point out the 2 Lombardi's and go, youd let him play till he throws 100 INTs in a season too...but to all the NYG fans who are Eli haters.

seriousy, those guys & gals are Fn morons. just who do they want to be QBing the Giants...Nassib?? Geno?? Sanchez?? Manziel?? someone else??

puh-fluckin-leez.

Eli: 379-601 63.1% 4410yds & 30TDs

eli is a hall of famer for being the 15th rated passer and taint doug is a hall of famer for winning with the 19th rated passer

nobody makes the Hall based on rating.

you know that.

yards, TDs and Championships.

check, check and 2x Check.

I think Eli falls into the Jim Plunkett group of quarterbacks. Good player, on good teams, that won championships. I don't think you can be a hall of famer if you have never been top five at your position at any time during your career.

I take full blame for that; he only blew up when I started him on my Fantasy team.

please.

Jim Plunkett was a failure. hes grouped with the Brad Johnson's, Trent Dilfer' & Jeff Hostetler's of the world.

Flacco is ahead of him, so is Theismann.

Eli is with the Aikmans and Griese's.

Honestly they should have let EJ play all year. QB's need to take their lumps. Not every QB is Andrew Luck coming out of college. You need to live with the growing pains. Miami did it. Cleveland will probably do it next year with Manziel. Washington is doing it with RGIII when he is healthy. Oakland did it with Carr. Minny with Bridgewater. Even the Jets threw Geno out there to let him take his lumps to see what he has to see if he is the guy. You can't find out if you have "the guy" at QB if you keep him on the bench. Gotta go through a year or so with the mistakes. Otherwise you shouldn't have drafted him.

Yeah teams with franchise QBs don't realize how FB on your favorite isn't close the same without them. Watching Garopplio play QB Sunday instead of Brady was mind numbing. Obviously Garopplio is only a rookie and looked scared but it makes the idiots in the media who wanted Brady out after week 4 this year even dumber.
When you have a QB you don't get rid of them unless they are physically done.

i thought you were talking about this year.

Eli is the tier below Peyton, Brady, Rodgers.
Next tier Brees, Luck, Rothlisberger, Eli, Wilson, Flacco, Rivers, Romo
3rd tier Foles, Tannenhill, Ryan, Newton, Kaepernick, Stafford

Alright, Alright... I'll meet you halfway. Ken Stabler and Phil Simms.
