Honestly they should have let EJ play all year. QB's need to take their lumps. Not every QB is Andrew Luck coming out of college. You need to live with the growing pains. Miami did it. Cleveland will probably do it next year with Manziel. Washington is doing it with RGIII when he is healthy. Oakland did it with Carr. Minny with Bridgewater. Even the Jets threw Geno out there to let him take his lumps to see what he has to see if he is the guy. You can't find out if you have "the guy" at QB if you keep him on the bench. Gotta go through a year or so with the mistakes. Otherwise you shouldn't have drafted him.
Der Kaiser said he would take a 3rd round pick. So lets parlay.Nassib to the Bills...
i like both, if they made the HOF i wouldnt complain and with Phil this hurts to say, but...Eli is better.Alright, Alright... I'll meet you halfway. Ken Stabler and Phil Simms.
I think the most overrated QB is Drew Brees. He has played all his home games in SD or a Dome. Yet some want to put him in the league with Brady/Peyton/Rodgers. Give me Eli over Brees.
NO has talent its on the HC and QB in today's NFL. Cameron Jordan, Junior Galette, Jarius Byrd, Kenny Vacario is a real solid defense.PFF had Brees the #3 QB this year behind Rodgers and Brady. He actually played better on the road this year than in the Dome. I think he's played with some of the worst defenses in the history of the league, and gets into trouble when he forces things.
Peyton to me always seemed overrated. He's had some great statistics, but also laid some of the biggest eggs in big games, and his performance in bad weather has never been great.

Brady/Peyton/Rodgers don't lose 5 home games. That is on Brees their offense didn't exactly do well in those losses.
There is an opposite and a prevailing school of thought that says, unless you have a Luck, you let him learn and develop as a backup for a year or 2 and not destroy his confidence by throwing him into the fire.
Watkins won the Lions and Vikings games , besides blowing up every other secondary.
Obviously I don't know how badly, but just from watching him, I think he pretty much played hurt almost all year.
That was the thought in the 80's, in this day of age if you draft a kid you almost always play him from day 1. Yes there are exceptions but almost always in his rookie year he starts day 1 or takes over at some point in year 1 and just holds onto the job.
No coach or GM has a year or 2 to wait to see if the kid can play QB. Those days are over, its win now or get fired. The day of the 3 and 5 year plan for building a team are long gone. Can't wait on a QB for a couple years.
