OT - Medical Staff Misdiagnosis

my kid broke his ankle in a fball game our teams trainer and the trainer for the section assigned to the game both said it was just a sprain and to go back in. he said he was pretty sure he heard it pop , coaches tried to send him back in and he said it just didnt feel right and wouldnt do it.

trainer comes back to check on him 30 min later as its swelled up and says hey that looks like more than a sprain.. and it was

My son's friend had a doctor fail to diagnose a spinal fracture, and let the kid continue to play soccer. Took 6 more weeks to get to another doctor, who made the diagnosis from the original x-rays. Scary.

Now this is how you handle issues without being able to trust your medical staff:

Can it be reasonably suggested that Tucker misdiagnosed Clark's condition [just using that as a recently egregious example]?

This is a professional, not a collegiate, medical staff, so I don't think that it is a perfect comparison, but it is an interesting outcome for us to pay attention to. Might it have some peripheral applicability for our program? Hard to say, but...

There was a kid a few years ago who died of a head injury a week after he played my kids team. My son and others said the kid late in their game got his bell rung and started to walk off the field in Circles which I didn't notice. But it sounds like the kid was never looked at by his team or went to the doctors afterwards. I can only base this on what they told me at the time.
