MR. Levy
I will admit I do not watch a lot of boxing, however for most of us out there we know boxing as a sport where top physical athletes compete to literally knock the other out. In this day of social media Pacquiao v. Mayweather promised all things that the younger generation has never had the opportunity to see, and that is two men going toe to toe, establishing dominance and showing the heart of warrior. This was the highest grossing title fight of all time! of ALL TIME! For younger semi-fans who want a reason to love the sport and even for the older generation who had the opportunity to see the great "Rocky - esque" fights of the past the stage was set to breath new life into boxing. Instead, once again, on the biggest stage, the largest grossing boxing event of all time the viewers as whole are left unsatisfied. It did nothing for the sport of boxing. Sure if I was a super fan I could say wow that was amazing technique and defense on display tonight. However most of the world are not super fans of boxing. Most of the world wants to see the definition of boxing, "the sport or practice of fighting with the fists, especially with padded gloves in a roped square ring according to prescribed rules" (Oxford Dictionary) Sadly that did not happen and unfortunately this is why the sport is dying. The two biggest names in boxing did not even live up to the definition of their sport...
just my thoughts and opinions...
