That being said - thank gosh Dino made a move. I literally told someone three days ago that mistakes made by underclassman OL can't be worse than what Alexander was doing. I feel bad that he made the decision to walk after getting the bench. Says more about him being a ME guy than a TEAM guy. Time to groom the Youngbloods.

I agree that if the line isn't getting the job done, let's go with the younger guys and build toward something rather than having poor-preforming seniors take reps away from them.

A offensive line is a delicate thing. If you have to switch people around, (as when Sam Heckel couldn't play), you can create weaknesses along the line. But if you can solve one problem, that can solve other problems, too.

secondary issue is this plays with depth even more.. now our #1 tackle is at center and our #2-3 is gone, now playing with perhaps our 3-4th best options so another injury is really playing with fire..

What’s the worst that’s going to happen? We won’t be able to run the ball, we’ll commit a ton of false start penalties, and our QB will get sacked like every time he drops back?

He didn't enroll until August so he missed an entire summer of S&C.

It is a shame. My understanding is that Alexander was not capable of playing at the fast pace Syracuse prides itself on playing. I am sad this didn’t work out but I would not be surprised to see us really play fast all game long for the first time this season. Even if Matt makes some mistakes and struggles, this is probably going to be for the best.

I think so, too. Bergeron looks like he belongs. I expect growing pains, but honestly -- can he be any worse?

Kid looks like the best prospect on the OL we've brought in in a LONG time.
