OT Schiano remains a classless jerk

A RB going out of bounds near Shady and sweeping the leg would be deserving.

I don't know if it's douchey, or just dumb. The "I didn't know about in the NFL" thing is such BS. I'm sure his own players let him know that nobody ever does that.

Players don't have to do everything their idiot coaches tell them to.

So many meathead coaches in this stupid sport

And exponentially more fans who are even stupider yet rabidly follow the sport...

I am no fan of Schiano, but I don't see a problem with trying to cause a fumble when one is down only one score. This seems like one of those silly unwritten rules we have in baseball. Etiquette plays a major role in some sports (e.g., golf, tennis), but not in football. Taking a knee when up only one score is also more about preventing a turnover than showing mercy to one's opponent.

Way off here, the game is over. These guys have a short window as professionals, they make big money at quite a cost. They play to provide for their families for probably the rest of their lives many of them if they are smart with their finances. Would be ashame to see a career end over a cheap shot like that, plain and simple. There is definitely etiquette involved because there are plenty of opportunities when comething like this could ruin a career over something soooo stupid. This isn't a war dude, their is plenty of etiquette is pro sports. If TC thinks it's cheap, it's cheap. Guy has been around the game as long as anyone and it as firece a competitor as their is. It was BS and everyone knows it, I bet if you ask all the NFL coaches it would be overwhelming in TC's favor. IT's bush league and the play to last snap thing is JV

If we take Schiano and the Giants out of the equation and look at it objectively, why should any team down only one score stop trying to win? Strange things happen all the time. If Deon Goggins forces a fumble when Louisville takes a knee with 30 seconds left, he will be a hero.

5 seconds - nothing good from it can happen, only injuries.

He has his team do it when losing by more as well.

It's just cheap. It's one thing if players know what is going on, but you take an OL and QB by surprise like that, people get hurt because they are not prepares.

I know, I know... Pisarchik tried to hand the ball off to Czonka - - so it wasn't a V formation, and he also just flat out fumbled it - wasn't really hit at all.
So I guess there's no logical comparison.

Never mind then. I won't bring it up the whole Herman Edwards thing.

"You play to win the game."

You can slap at the ball when the center snaps it but if the snap gets to the qb you dont dive anywhere near the OLs knees.

Reverse the situations and say an OL gets hurt when you do that. If youre on a DL that hurts a guy like that you can be mad when the next game instead of the victory formation they line a tight end out wide and send him diving through your legs. That penalty would run the clock.out as well at the end of the game

Obviously his own players don't agree either. Their comments were basically that they did what they were told and "that's all I'm going to say about it"

Explain to me why he has done it when down by more than one score?

Players on the Giants have to respect Coughlin even more. Here is this 65 year old guy out their defending his players. I was impressed.

I don't see what the problem was. The defense showed they were coming. The game was not over maybe the OL should have recognized the rush was coming.

Antiono Pierce said he sees no problem with what the bucs did, his comment was you get paid to play a 60 minute game, not a 59:55 minute game...if there is a chance to cause a fumble and return it go for it... I have no problem with it.

Wow, im kind of shocked so many people are whining about Schiano. Down by one score with the ball at the 30 yd line, try to force a fumble, why not? Play to the end of the game.

nfl will probably just create the schiano rule now where if you don't want to run a play, you don't have to. just start the clock and don't do anything.

Read IB's post from earlier in this thread. He summed it up perfectly. Its bush league. It's like calling time-outs with 2 minutes left down 30. Some day, a linemen is going to get injured and Schiano will really get skewered. I'm glad he's getting skewered as much as he is. Its deserved. He made a habit out of this at Rutgers. Fortunately for him, nobody watched Rutgers games and weren't onto him. They are now. And thank you Tom Coughlin for teaching that scumbag a little bit of a lesson.

Golic and Ditka zealously defended the move on Mike & Mike this morning. Guess some from the old school camp see no problem.

Throw those guys on the Giants OL and have their knees chopped at with no time left on the clock in V formation and see how much they agree with it

Golic is a moron, and Ditka is an old-school tough guy - he would have no issue with them playing without helmets.

New England did this last year to Buffalo and noone said a word. Buffalo had to take 3 knees to end the game, Victory Formation, close game and NE kept powering through the line, trying to smack the ball during the snap. I'm a Buffalo fan and I had no problem with what NE did and I dont have a problem with this. Not sure why the other team has to stop playing just because one team decided the game is over.

Well said... As a cowboy fan I wouldn't be mad if another team did that to Dallas in the same situation. It's a sixty minute game...if there is the slightest chance to cause a fumble and return it go for it!
