OT: Simpsons mock Upstate NY

IMO, the ultimate Simpsons episode was Mr. Sparkle (Actual episode title was "In Marge We Trust"). where Homer tries to figure out why his likeness is on boxes of Japanese dishwasher detergent. The Mr. Sparkle commercial is epic.

After watching... pretty big whif for a show thats kinda grasping to maintain viewers.

It’s low class to pick on drunk driving and the opioid crisis (yes it is a crisis).

Not to mention Niskayuna has more focused wealth and educated minds than many other areas of the nation.

Just kind of dumb.

I believe a lot of Simpsons jokes over the years would be considered low class by whoever is the butt of jokes. Anyone who has ever been a simpsons fan has laughed at someone else's expense.

So’s southpark and family guy, two better cartoons. I understand why some people find it funny, I just thought it was a reach/low effort attempt that bordered offensive.

The Simpsons still has its moments, but - they are fewer and farther between than ever.

The one thing I love about that chart - DENTAL PLAN! - era really was the zenith of the Simpsons.
That and Flaming Moe, and Mr. Plow.

I've lived in Central NY, Western NY and in the city of Rochester. Please tell me, which region is Rochester in? It seems to sit on the boundary between West and Central. If you live in an eastern suburb, you aren't in western NY. If you live in a western suburb, you aren't in central NY. But either way, you certainly are in upstate NY!

Everyone I know from the roc considers themselves from western ny. And weird food cultists, to boot. Anyone can make buffalo wings. Garbage plates are disgusting pig slop

I think it's wherever the pop vs soda line falls.

I moved from wny to cny in my youth and no one in cny knew wth a pop was.
