OT-Smart phone/tablet help

orangecuse, see my macrumors link above. That site has a status for each mac product and when and when not to buy. My guess is iPhone5 is quite aways away, so unless you're in no rush I'd just buy a 4s.

Thanks...not sure how I missed that...though maybe it has to do with this whole Bernie debacle crap...my mind has been in a complete fog over this...:(

If it is a gadget, we own it.

I have an Android phone (Moto Atrix) and a couple of tablets (Tab and Thrive). It'll tick off the fan boys, but you really need a high pain threshold to deal with Android. It'll get better as time goes on, but it's not where it needs to be.

I think the phones will be much better when 4.0 arrives. As for the tablets, forget it. They're DOA in the market and adding more cores to a processor isn't going to change that. Buy an iPad or buy a Fire - no one ever gets burned by going with Apple or Amazon.

They're not selling in large enough numbers to be worth recommending, but I've been using a Windows Phone for a few weeks and actually rather like it.

By the way, don't know if this has been posted, but you can play flash video content on the Ipad2 by downloading the iSwifter APP for 5 bucks. Works like a charm - was just watching OAA on it.

I'm an Apple guy. Just great products that are real easy to use. In regards to tablets, I have the iPad 2 and love it. That said, it depends on what you want one for. I bought my mother the Kindle Fire for Xmas, for $200 it will serve all her purposes.
