I run out of mine all the time. But then it starts magically working again, even before I clear my cache or cookies.

I don't think Zuckerberg was their lead developer in charge of implementing this change.
Hmmm mine never reset.

I have the football and basketball apps. Haven’t been denied anything. I look at syr.com at work and read it all. Just don’t get the comments which is a blessing.

Business wise Newspapers made a mistake initially giving free access on line. Most people stopped their paper based subsciption except for the Sunday paper at that time. Very difficult to get people to pay when they had free access to higher quality writing for free for years. They let many of their quality writers leave and then started charging for access. Horrible timing and business planning. Sad but it seems that the loss of ad revenue and subscribers forced them to make this late and high fee priced decision. I sure hope not but I can see there being a merger with Buffalo newspaper etc encompassing upstate news in the future.
They're already run by the same company that does NJ.com here in Dirty Jerzee.

I dunno, that'd be interesting, but the Sub-Standard is owned by Advance and the Buffalo News (which is in my opinion still a pretty strong paper) is, I think, still owned by Berkshire Hathaway. I don't know that either company is buying these days.

In a perfect world, we'd have gotten together 20 years ago with some community trust and purchased the paper. Like with the Guardian in the U.K.; I think there's an American example of this, too, but I forget. But these bottom-line-focused corporations have for the most part run their newspapers into the ground and now it's way too late. It's sad, but I think it'd be crazy to pay for the content that syracuse.com provides. Judging by their homepage, it's like social media gossip with a pinch of local and sports news.

Funny I was locked out a few weeks ago and today all of a sudden I am able to open the links. I don't look at anything except for football links thru this site. I also still like receiving Rochester D&C paper but we cut back to Thu - Sun. I agree with upperdeck; I would miss a lot of stuff if I was strictly digital. Every time our subscription is up they try to raise our rate substantially to some outrageous price, my wife cancels the subscription and they call up back a few months later with this great deal. I don't know why they don't just offer a reasonable deal for a longer timeframe instead of a great deal for a short term. We would probably pay it.

I too was blocked, but I really don't care. To me it's shows/tells me that the Syracuse Post Standard is in dire straights and is in need of much needed revenue. I'm expecting the paper to go out of business within the next few years.
