OT - Tough News To Report

Man that’s horrible. This is why roundabouts are better than stoplight intersections.
Except for the video I saw of a person not paying attention and hit the round about a full speed. It was a full on Dukes of Hazzard flight.

Time for another update. Rachel has had three weeks of radiation treatments, six doses in total. Her last dose is on Thursday. I’ll still be around for 2-3 weeks before heading back to Colorado. My older daughter is going to swap locations with me. Thanks for all of your good advice and goodwill...really hoping it’s gone for good...
Good to hear some good news here and I am very happy the treatments are almost over for your daughter.

Hope you can make it to a couple of tailgates and games this year Don!

Yeah...it's great. They offered her two options: three higher dosage treatments or six lower dosage treatments. The six dosage option is thought to have fewer long term side effects. She's tired of the drive to Charlottesville but it was an easy choice for her to make...
Great news brother!

Me too...my schedule is too fluid still but I have season tickets with my brother and would like to use some of them. Maybe Rutgers and Clemson?

This is great to hear. All the best to you, your daughter and the rest of the family. Great to hear some positive and continuing to wish best for you all.

Keep me posted on the Rutgers game!

Rachel received her last treatment today and got to ring a bell signifying the end of her treatments and eradication of her cancer. It was a great day. She was one of two who got to ring the bell today...

That is such wonderful news. God Bless your Daughter and Family.

Don, I only saw this this morning. I am so sorry I didn’t write to you or acknowledge all that you’re going through. A child with cancer is the scariest thing I can imagine. My nephew was diagnosed with metastatic medullary thyroid cancer at age 26. He is now 30. It has not been easy but he is here.

My love to you and your daughter.

Keep me posted on the Rutgers game!
So, I’ve made plans I hope will stick. I’ll be at Rutgers and Clemson, more if I can. I’ll be at Rutgers with my brother and at Clemson with my daughter who has had Cancer. It’ll take me 8 days by train to complete the Clemson journey, but I’ll be there...$230 round trip from Colorado...

8 days by train?! My man, that’s way more epic then any trip I’ve ever made lol I hope you plan to make a thread here and live blog the trip!

Looking forward to the Rutgers game!

There is no one more epic than Cusetroop...no one...I’m going on an adventure. Cusetroop goes on quests and encounters all kinds of magical creatures and stuff. You’re a legend...

Hi Don, Congrats on the wonderful news. I hadn't seen this thread until a few minutes ago, checking the SU-Ohio football score. I'm hoisting a home version of a Dome Foam for you both here tonight. (Yes, that's one for each, haha). Have a great trip on the train! Best wishes for the future and thanks for sharing.

Best wishes for what lies ahead. A cancer diagnosis used to be a death sentence. That's no longer the case, but the cure is very difficult. I hope for her and all your family perseverance and strength for the journey. This right now feels really isolating, but there are many people who have lived what is facing her, and many have survived. Look for some support groups. This is a hell of a thing to go through alone.
