Clearly, we've been watching the wrong futbol! The NSCAA (soccer coaches association) has just released the final regular season poll of 2014, and our very own Syracuse Orangemen are #1 heading into the postseason.

This poll has us 6th. UCLA @ 1, which IIRC, is where one of last years top strikers transferred to from Cuse
This is awesome. Any possible future pros/U.S. nationals on this squad you guys think?
Those things look like Otto inspired Steeler's throwback jerseys...yuck.I really hope they do jersey sales again next year. I missed the boat
The GK, Bono, is likely to leave after this season to turn pro. Defenders Skylar Thomas and Jordan Murrell are possible MLS draftees and there is always the chance that top scorer Ekblom returns to Europe. This is probably the best chance they will have to get to the Final Four.
i youtubed some of that ekblom kid a while back. holy crap
how did they track all these kids down?

NKR1978 said:Amazing accomplishment for the program in a really short amount of time. Right now we have: #1 Men's soccer #3 Men's cross country #6 Field Hockey #16 Women's cross country #23 Men's basketball #25 Women's basketball Not too shabby for a little school in Central New York. Women's soccer, volleyball and ice hockey and their coaches are on the clock. No reason for those programs to not crack the rankings.
What Gross has done for non-revenue sports at SU is nothing short of remarkable.
I know a lot of people here only care about football, men's hoops and men's lacrosse. Jake C shared that POV.
But as an alumni I know that we are a much better university for having successful Olympic sports programs.
Just hope we get a championship during this great run for one of these teams.
