Like him or hate him the truth is he won at Rutgers and numerous colleges will try to hire him. They will reason that if he won there he can certainly win at [enter college name here].

Kansas, UCONN, Iowa, UNLV, Nebraska, Indiana, Idaho, NM, Temple, So Fla and even Texas might be interested. The pursuit for money trumps everything. Just hold your nose and hire a coach.

amazing that his smoke and mirrors don't work in the NFL - can't pad your record against semi-pro teams to make it to the playoffs

I hate to say it but I fear he can do better (based on nothing but the smoke and mirrors that got him 8 wins/year at rutty and a couple years in the pros). my worst case scenario is that o'brien leaves psu and he gets consideration for that gig. of course, running psu into the ground isn't all bad.

I don't want to defend GS but for the record he was 19-39 in his first 5 years at Rutgirls - .327 winning pct. In his last 6 he only had one losing season and was 49-28 for a .636 winning pct. That is what got him the Tampa job.

The mistakes the Bucs make on the field are absurd. They absolutely kill themselves with penalties.

Instead of being 2-0, they are 0-2 and it is DIRECTLY related to penalties. It's unreal. Thank God I'm not a Bucs fan.

Yeah, I know but Saban stunk up Miami, Petrino crapped out at Atlanta, Pete Carroll drowned with the Jets, and they all got great college jobs. Don't sell the NFL cache short. Texas might think they need to hire a defensive minded coach. Let's face it if Schiano can get hired as a HC in the NFL anything can happen.

I could see him getting at shot at some level schools as HC or a DC at a bigger school like Texas. I don't like a thing about the guy but he can coach defense and special teams. DC @ UT likely would pay better than HC @ UConn as well.

No middle of the pack or better BCS Power 5 team will look at Schiano. The will analyze his record and discover that he racked up wins against Pop Warner and Powder Puff teams with no league championships and no NC talk. Besides, he isn't going anywhere unless they guarantee a helicopter at his disposal. Still, The Empire State Building was lit up in red once...
