saw Devo chilling behind the bench. any good accounts of the nineties halftime show ? crowd seemed engaged yesterday.

The town is a hole, they should have 50k there every game. Please give me one other thing to do in the winter other than to watch a Cuse game.

Is there all that much more to do in Durham,Louisville, Ann Arbor, South Bend, Lexington, Storrs, Lansing, Lawrence, etc.? I don't know, but my impression is that a lot of these college sports powerhouse towns/cities aren't that much different from the "things to do" perspective.

South Bend is truly a hole. I'd rather literally dig myself my own hole and throw myself in it than hang out in that town.

I would imagine Syracuse offers quite a bit more than many on that list and is similar to a few others but can't say for sure as I've never been to any of those places.

There are so many festivals , it's difficult to keep track of them all. Was that the thing downtown or the one at the State Fairgrounds?

Yeah, South Bend sucks for sure. Proximity to Chicago is the only positive, IMO.

To be fair, I live about 5 mins from Turning Stone. It's really nowhere near 'cuse considering it takes me about 45 minutes to get to a game. But still, I agree that there's plenty to do

To be fair, many people in many cities commute that distance every day for work (including me).

45 mins is definitely close enough to claim for the 'Cuse.

define a good time. it's different for everybody. why a deck of cards and a couple of strippers can make practically anyplace heaven.

Thank you...

I know people who travel everyday there and further from Syracuse to work (Rome labs etc) and from Utica to Syracuse for work. The 2 guys who sit next to me on the left come from Geneseo every game, while a couple who sit 2 rows in front of me have been coming from Marathon, NY area every game for 30 years. By the way not to get off track but ask these people what they think of tearing down Rte 81 means to them.

Out of curiosity, what does tearing down 81 mean to them?

This statement, in this thread, says everything you need to know about the posters attitude. Is it any wonder why they are so vocal when SU loses, or has a bad streak, but is nowhere to be found when they are doing well?

They both said they doubt they'd keep their season tickets. A long trip would just be made longer and more of a pain. The guy from Geneseo (he's a professor there) laughed and said if they are saying it will only add 15 minutes , then count on it being a half hour at the minimum. He said even 15 minutes would be a deal breaker for him coming from work for 7pm games and always getting home about 10:30 pm- 11pm like he does now. The couple from Marathon only said if they think we're sightseeing, they are wrong. Interesting take from SU out of town fans around me. Just got into the conversation at the end - don't know how it started.

I like the team, the city is a wreck.
