So many great games tonight. And four Big East teams in the Sweet 16.

I love it. Boston is going to be a Big East/Big 10ish showdown.

Get it on.

Cincy played their hearts out against us we played about 85%.
Cincy never let up for one minute against us.
We had one guy bring it that game.

Last game we had 2 guys with more then 2 points at haltime and we finished with 4 guys in double figures. The Cincy game was a good lesson for our guys.

There is a lot of history between OSU and Cincy. Fifty years ago, they were the two best teams in the country, each winning NCs (Ohio State in 1960 and Cincy in 1961 and 1962). ... with the two best players ..... Here were the players of the year ... 50 years ago...
1958 Oscar Robertson, Cincinnati 1959 Oscar Robertson, Cincinnati 1960 Oscar Robertson, Cincinnati 1961 Jerry Lucas, Ohio State 1962 Jerry Lucas, Ohio State

Cincy has always had a very good program- just got lost in the wilderness for a while.
Good to see them back.

I was rooting for FSU. Cronin is an ass for the comments he made at the BET.

6 wins against Sweet 16 teams. USF should have won too. But would rather have had FSU in Boston. Cincy another grab, push, shove low scoring war. FSU would have been more open court team we can get transition.

We matchup really well with UC obviously. They played out of their minds in the BET and we sucked, and we still almost won.

That being said, worry about Wisconsin, and I like our chances vs. either OSU or Cincy

Who cares?
Let them beat up OSU for us, or we play them again.
Either way, I like our chances! ;)

Did I say OSU? I said I was rooting for FSU over them.

And there was some guy named Havlicek on those Ohio State teams with Lucas...

Exactly my point, bees.
I'd rather see UC than FSU in the Sweet16 for the reasons I stated.
Gates is no Sully, & we owe them one.

How do you figure we matchup "really well"? (let alone obviously) They have about 4 guys that can hit threes against us, and we don't have Fab to battle Yancy Gates. And sure, we beat them once without Fab, but what if Christmas gets in foul trouble? Yancy could blow Keita over. And even though the rest of the team was lousy in the BET (other than Dion), you're most likely not going to get 7-10 from Dion again from three either. Also, our win in the regular season came before Cronin implemented the use of the zone against us, which obviously successfully stiffled everyone other than Mr. Waiters.

Would be cool to meet UC, imo. However, although I feel confident about our chances against the Badgers, I'm hoping that their defense doesn't make us into jump shooters only; our recent improvement in offense came from driving to the basket. So, if we get by the Badgers, I would love to see UC in the Elite Eight. The other plus is that Rak did well against Gates when Fab was out so he should play against UC with a TON of confidence going into that game with NCAA experience under his belt.

UC shot about as well as they possibly could against us and we played horribly and still almost won. They have a lot of "shooters" technically, but none of them are particularly amazing. Wright and Kilpatrick are solid, Dixon is alright, Parker is unspectacular and more of a penetrator/jump shooter than a 3pt shooter. They average 7 3s per game as a team and hit 8 vs. us in the first half in the BET.

They still turn the ball over a lot and they aren't a team we'd have to worry about killing us on the glass. JB has done pretty well vs. Cronin and would be way better prepared this time around. Basically I think they played as well against us as they can in New York; 10 3s, Gates had 18 and they won the turnover battle

What strikes me pretty funny is that we beat Cinci at Cinci without Fab but lost to Cinci at MSG with Fab.

I'd love to pay back Cincy for the loss in the BET. While I generally I like our chances against a team that has not yet faced our zone vs a BE team who played us twice this year it will be a "pick your poison" game if we get by Wiscy. Either team will be a challenge.

we're talking about the same cincy team that scored 14 ponts IN THE FIRST HALF in the BET final, right?

Bobby Knight was a reserve on the 1960 OSU team than won a national championship. In addition to Jerry Lucas, that team featured a swingman named John Havlicek that would go on to some success in Boston in the NBA.

anyone who wants osu over cincy needs to have their brain examined.
