Our perimeter D was great today.

I had nightmares before the game of Cat getting through the perimeter and shredding our interior defense with fouls. Was very happy to see him get shut down at the outside.

G. Cooney. Howard all did a great job stopping penetration from the Cat today! He had difficulty getting inside in the half court!
Cat was a complete non-factor today. The zone and SU's length make for a nightmare match up for him. Coleman did a nice job on him too when he was able penetrate a few times.

How big of a meltdown (deserved) would it have been if not for G going off saving us yet Cat being a non-factor?

Thankfully we don't have to see it.

But that game never felt like it was going to get away to me. They were up comfortably for most of the game and responded every time the lead was cut to 5 or 6. Sure, they need to stay more focused and disciplined as a team going forward, but some people (not you) are acting like they barely escaped with the win.

Sure did for me. G hit shots that were blessed by the Holy Spirit to keep our lead comfortably 6-8.

I actually felt pretty good about it as well. More because of the D and how bad NCSU was on offense. Never truly felt it was going to slip away even though I can understand the potential panic mode settling in.

I swear our fan base gets softer and more neurotic every year.

That may be true but some of the play on the court can induce that. We've been in a pretty bad funk offensively the past few years, blow leads galore, have no guard depth for like three years straight, etc. That's all I care to comment on.

IMO, Lydon and Coleman are very good together in the back of the zone. Especially with the way TRobs been playing.
