Our PGs appear

I think a more skilled and quick Pitt. We get to the line 25+ times yet only have 46 points now. I think we had a 9:00 FG drought in the 2H! Not enough diversity on offense. Our guards still just dribble around and waste time.

Team that won 25 games last year. Good coach. Tough defense.

No idea why people thought this would be easy. That said... We couldn't even execute simple bball plays today. Really weird.
Agreed. Very discouraging performance. A complete butt-whipping. Long season to go, but we looked soft.

We have a PG that you basically cant have on the floor in close games.

Such an overused worry on this forum - what're you gonna do? We can't have this guy on the floor...that guy on the floor. We've never been the best FT shooting program, yet we survive. You adjust if it remains an issue. I don't think we've ever seen a 30 win team go to 15 because of a poor foul shooting PG.

Just too much standing around and very little offense being run if any. Our guards looked so shell-shocked. Gillon made some plays but forced too much at times. A good M2M seems to be Boeheim's kryptonite. That being said. Is our athleticism overrated? We have length of course but South Carolina had athletes too and it seemed pretty neutral, frankly.

It's ways humbling to get a rude awakening, which is what this team just got. We will most likely always struggle with teams that are overly physical on D. We were in the double bous with about 15 minutes in the 2nd half and didn't take advantage. In the past we could deal with a 51-48 type game - however this team isn't good enough on D to win those games. We will want most games in the 70s this year

Can't have Chukwu on the floor and expect our guards to be able to drive the lane. There's no need to defend him, so whenever a guard does actually get by someone, he runs into a center ready to send the ball to the other end.

SC has played a lot better competition than we have so far. They were much more aggressive than us.

One of the announcers was in love with Gillion, I thought he played terrible especially in the first half. I think he s* his pants today and was nervous. He was literally throwing jump passes behind him before he reached half court and throwing jump passes before the 3 point line to bigs...

This is a D that allowed a very good offensive team in Michigan to make 4 shots in the 2nd half. Our athletes were fine. Our problem was the best players on the court were Thornwell and PJ Dozier.

Agreed. He did settle down eventually but he looked very nervous

Tend to agree. Throw in Lydon and Silva and probably 3 out of the 4 best players were from South Carolina.

Yeah, this was my concern back against the cupcakes. He seems to just drive and then worry about the creativity later, but against bigger, longer, more athletic teams not having a plan seemed like it may not translate to success.

His passing/vision looked subpar then, he was just hitting shots against crap teams...I said it when it happened, when we went to press in the first half with Lydon and Howard having two fouls, JB needed to pull them both. Or just not press.

Having Howard pick up his third, and being stuck with Gillon at PG was pretty much signing our death warrant for that half. Not sure why we took the risk at that point.

Not too difficult to grade the players after the game. Everyone except Lydon gets a D or an . And Lydon had 6 TOs but was the only player who played decently on the team. Those 4 FT misses by Howard were daggers. Going around 9 minutes without a basket is simply incredible for this team. Hopefully the team wakes up for Tuesday's game.

Loved Lydon in the first half. However in the 2nd half the last 12 minutes he was invisible. Hard to get on him though, he was the only reason it was within 20 the whole game. White hit a few jumpers but no one else did anything
