Palm still has SU in Pinstripe Bowl

Nah the bowl counts more than the team. I’m 20 years we will remember what bowl we went to not who we played. At that point it’s just gravy.

I disagree. Beating a name team like Penn St would matter more than whatever the name of the bowl was. Names keep changing for 1/2 of them anyways

My favorite bowl name this year is the "Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl"

A win over ND and the Orange will make a quantum leap to another level of existence. Well, at least to 6 or 7 in the rankings, maybe higher.
My guess is 10-9 depending on other games

I’d puke if Pitt goes to a higher bowl than us.

the Pitt kicker for having a career day.

Agree, the whole system is screwed up if a team like Pitt goes to a better bowl based on divisional record in a shitty division. so, instead of the full body of work, its a teams fortunate location in a crappy subdivision with the overall body of work not being factored in.

I have no problem with that but after the 2 pinstripe bowls and this game I'm yankees stadiumed out would prefer something different.

Absolutely, another PSB would be a total slap in the face and a huge downer.

Honestly, I know we have been in the Aloha, Cherry, and Fiesta bowl a couple times, but it took a while to remember who we played in Fiesta, and still can't recall who we played in the other 2 bowls.

Please no more yankees stadium games.

Why? I love it. Plus, this is one of the biggest, if not the biggest outside of CNY, of SU alum. We need more fans to get back on the Cuse Football train again. Will only help propel this program's brand and growing favorable reputation.

We can get that Saturday. Give me Atlanta vs an sec team or Orlando.

I thought it was overall record not acc record that mattered?

Overall record matters in getting you ranked high enough for a Playoff spot / NY6 bowl. If you are not in that discussion the ACC bowl tiers and one win rule only use conference record.

Sports Illustrated has Cuse in Camping World Bowl.

Camping World Bowl, Orlando (5:15 p.m. ET, ESPN)
Big 12 vs. ACC
Iowa State vs. Syracuse

They must think NC St. is losing another game

Might just be how different people see things differently.

Def just happy to be having the discussion lol

I'm assuming this was posted somewhere, but just in case.

If we are 9-3 we will be in the Camping Bowl.
If we are 8-4 it will be Pinstripe Bowl.
If we are 10-2 it’s Fiesta or Peach.

College football is corrupt business where merit is not the first consideration. I can see a scenario which SU finishes 9-3, 6-2, losing to ND. If NC St. doesn't against ville or UNC, they go 5-3 in league play. The Camping World bowl can use the one win rule (conference record) to take NC St. over SU. It won't matter that SU will likely be ranked higher with the HTH win. All the Orlando people care about it NC St. has more alums that are within driving distance.

What's corrupt about that?

They dropped the Orange off the latest iteration.

Really?

Colorado and K State in the Fiesta, Arizona in the Aloha bowl and Maryland in the Cherry.
Holy crap! I can’t remember my name half the time and even I remembered this!!! Every team!!! My wife is confounded by this freakish anomaly in my ability to recollect things!

This is incorrect. The NY6 and Camping World bowl goes by CFP ranking. After that the Tier One bowls have to use the one win rule, but its overall record. Conference record has absolutely nothing to do with the ACC bowl selection process.

after doing some research I see that the Camping world bowl has locked itself into the CFP rankings, making it different than the early 2000's corrupt Gator Bowl. For the one rule I must be thinking back to when BC got sent to Boise it's first season with a much better record. I'm pretty sure the initial one win rule back then was conference records. I guess the ACC changed that. I wonder why Palm still has NC St. going to Orlando? He must be projecting Cuse to lose both remaining games. Let's prove him wrong.

I'm curious: why do you say that the Gator Bowl was corrupt? Before the conference contract, unaffiliated bowls could select any qualifying teams, couldn't they?
