I hope ACC doesn't agree to one penny less than $50 million. it would just encourage others to look around more.

I could be mistaken, but I am pretty sure no conference has ever lowered the amount owed in an exit fee. The Big East waived the notice requirement for a price but not the amount originally owed. Why would the ACC?

UMD is expected to file lawsuit that the fee is punitive and not enforceable.

I agree they will sue, but I just don't see the ACC lowering the fee as Forde suggests. What the court decides well that is another story.

If a court would find the ACC exit fee to be punitive, than the Big 12 is in trouble because the Grant of rights concept would not stand up either. 13 years of broadcast rights has to be worth at least $50 million to some schools and a lot more to others.
