Pat Forde on Conference realignment?

He's right, it is about the money. However, without the money you don't have competitive facilities or the ability to pay coaches the going rates. Without facilities and coaches you can't recruit. If you can't recruit, you don't field a decent team. What's sad about all of this, is that schools felt the need to do this to remain viable.

There's no "news" here.

He's just making fun of the process and the people involved in it. And there is plenty to make fun of

These attempts to calm the waters have one great problem. Very few people believe them. They are done as a matter of course and are weasel-worded so that they cannot be identified as outright lies when whatever goes down goes down.

We have become a country where spinning, shading the truth and outright lying are the baseline approach. You would think that University presidents might be the last people to engage in this. On Harvard's seal there is a single word "Veritas" or "truth". Anyone believe that?

I'd believe the President of Harvard in a nano-second if he released a statement saying that Harvard has no interest whatsoever in the SEC or B1g 12.

What about if he said that he had an American Indian teaching at the law school?

Funny thing is that I have about that much Native American in me, too. (A little less, I think actually.) My grandmother wanted me to research if I could apply as a Native American, but my parents flat out forbid it.
