Paul Pasqualoni heads Syracuse Sports HOF Class of 2021

I agree w this logic across the board. Mac's 87 season is a wine cellar season for Syracuse.

In a sliding door scenario, if Gedney pulls a Gronk and trucks into the endzone against Miami in 92, does anything change with regards to that season bowl game wise/national title implications? I mean do we finish top 3? I also think if the 5th down play vs Tenn goes another way, we probably lose to Michigan the following week b/c that's what happened then.

At the end of the season:

1. Miami vs 2. Alabama (Sugar)
3. FSU vs 11 Nebraska (Orange)
4. Texas AM vs 5 Notre Dame (Cotton)
6. Syracuse vs 10 Colorado (Fiesta).

Remember, SU already had 1 loss against Ohio State.
FSU's only loss was to Miami
Texas AM was undefeated.

Let's say SU beats Miami...

Alabama plays FSU
Miami gets Nebraska
Maybe we bump ND out of the Cotton?

I think Jake, Mac, Paul and George all deserve equal credit for that run of success.

No Ringo's in that group.
Very fair observation

The early season loss to tOSU likely killed any chance we had of being top 5 in 1992.

I’ll always maintain that P’s chance at a nationally signature season came in the 1996-1998 range. But a mixture of overly aggressive scheduling, injuries, assistant coach shuffling, and a couple clunker performances ruined that. The stars just never aligned, which is a shame.

I felt like that Orange team was better than Alabama in 92. To think losing to tOSU early on hurt us for the entire season.

After we beat tOSU in the 91 HOF Bowl, they came into the Dome looking for blood. Players, coaches, fans. Those people were nuts. As raucous as any away crowd I can recall.

They had some great years, but in terms of total team depth, the Orange never had national championship talent.
