Gone AFTER next year.
Nixon will likely be gone after this year. Just do not see a world where he does not take a HC job after his two seasons here.
Could be wrong tho.

I hope we're all wrong about this. All signs point to next season being special.Nixon will likely be gone after this year. Just do not see a world where he does not take a HC job after his two seasons here.

And the University realized that they were so far behind the 8 ball.. We are ahead now but not by a lot! need more funding.. If we could go 10 year's of putting players in the NFL at a high rate then I think the future will be as bright as we imagine!!!In fairness, it was his dream job. Until he realized how crappy of an actual job it was getting the program funded like a real D1 school. Then it wasn’t a dream job anymore and he left.
It’s not complicated.

Compared to that Dougie wanted to what Fran is getting?? We are definitely ahead! That is just my opinion bot that it means anything lol ..We are not ahead.
We just are no longer wat behind.

I get it and maybe semantics but my comment was not intended to imply there was any intention to "squeeze " SU but to more imply Sexton would work to get Fran "market ". To me squeeze would imply every possible penny he could get. At least in my mind those are two different things. As I understand it, Sexton signed him when he was an assistant coach: the only non-HC in his stable. It’s not a new relationship because Fran wants to squeeze SU.
*Publicly mentioned. He has mentioned 10 years a few times. He said he wants to build legacies and not just coach teams.
Totally agreeAs I understand it, Sexton signed him when he was an assistant coach: the only non-HC in his stable. It’s not a new relationship because Fran wants to squeeze SU.
You dont think he'd want to go back to the pros?Nixon will likely be gone after this year. Just do not see a world where he does not take a HC job after his two seasons here.

He's already being flagged for the OK State role. Not sure they'll go for him but he should be an HC before long. The only question is whether it's after this year or the following year. I've heard conflicting things from people in the program -- some say he's gone after this year. Others think we get another year out of him.If Nixon is gone next year it will be a good thing.
It would be developing Coach Frans coaching tree.
This allows him to bring in better candidates.
That’s the name of the game for assistant positions.
Something that fans at Syracuse haven’t been used to in a long long time
Definitely agree that I think Wildhack and the BoT know what space they need to be in here and would expect they will approve a nice package for Fran.Totally agree
Not to mention the fact that Fran wouldn't even let Jimmy reach out for this job. He literally told him 'I'll do this one myself' and then had Jimmy negotiate the details after Fran closed it. Everyone is nuts if you think Fran would let another human control his outcome (no matter that guys track record)
Also, I don't know why outside people are so quick to assume we won't poney up. JB was 'underpaid' during his time but we always had him in the top 20 & when Dino needed his extention, he got paid in the top 20-25 range.
If we get Fran in the top 15-20 range, we will keep him (currently $9-$10mm/yr). I am confident that the University understands the importance of investing in athletics (they have plenty of proof points the past 10 years).
When you're telling us to enjoy the ride...*Publicly mentioned.
All I'm saying is enjoy the ride while we can. The restoration of SU Football is finally here.
Just a thought don't expect it too happen but it is in the interest of Onondaga County and the City of Syracuse to see SU football and hoops be perpetual top 25 programs. The economic impact of packing the dome week after week is significant to both. If you travel outside of NYS or abroad is it more likely that people are going to recognize the Syracuse name over say Rochester or Albany. This is due to Syracuse University and its two major sports programs. They are the face of City of Syracuse. With Micron coming too town having good teams is a draw to potential employees relocating here. Tax payers subsidize new stadiums and all sorts of private development all the time so why not subsidize NIL money. If the county/city kick in 5-10 million a year I think over time the payoff who be well worth it. Micron and NYS as well for that matter. Athletes could be used to mentor kids and represent the city in all sorts of ways thru NIL. Again sure there would be hurdles to cross and don't expect it. However as far as return on investment it makes sense to me anyways fwiw6m
Solid assistant money
15 to 16 out of the 20.3
Additional 10m in NIL
What are you implying?*Publicly mentioned.

I respect your inside info that you let us in on!!!! That is allHe's already being flagged for the OK State role. Not sure they'll go for him but he should be an HC before long. Believe his daughter is a sophomore and has two more years left, which doesn't hurt our chances of retaining him another year.
Yep and two things can be true at the same time:In fairness, it was his dream job. Until he realized how crappy of an actual job it was getting the program funded like a real D1 school. Then it wasn’t a dream job anymore and he left.

Don't think that's really the same ball parkIf money were such a motivating factor his kid would be on scholarship. To me its literally that simple.
