Penalty Hell....

4 holdings on us too. None of them after a blatant one not called on them before their field goal to end the first half.

Two late hits out of bounds in a span of three plays (forgot what WR it was but he got hit on late on the 1st down play two plays before the GS late hit) after they give Clemson a bail out late hit call that gets them a huge TD.

Blatant defensive holding on our one third down just past midfield in the third quarter.. not called. But they hit us with a ludicrous PI late in the game to let Clemson take more time off and get them a FG to make it a 6-point lead. I mean even on that overturned catch on our last drive Clemson had a far bigger PI not called.

I've wanted out of the ACC since pretty much year 3 when I saw how corrupt the refs are and nothing has changed in 10 years. They'll always favor certain schools.

Stupid penalties by us. Out of bounds hit turned the game. No call by the ref on the shrader out of bounds play. Bad interference call on clemson’s last drive.

As someone that doesn't watch much of the college football - what was wrong with Fuentes hit?

Are you not allowed to hit the QB if he seems to be willingly on his way out of bounds? On the replays it looked like his last step before contact was still inbounds - could be wrong on that though I suppose. Just curious.

Thats the NCAA income call. Without that call Clemson loses and the NCAA loses a bunch of money by not having Clemson in tue CFP

It was clearly a late hit by us. Just dumb. Refs got that one correct.

It was dumb, and unnecessary. I just didn't think the QB was out of bounds yet, so was curious if college has a rule on that as he was clearly going out.
Or he may have already been out of bounds. Idk.

I'm sure still shots will show up but I didn't think the QB was OB. Flashbacks to the NW game years ago.

What was clear was GS being OB after getting rid of the ball. You can call both or you can call neither but you can't no call the more blatant and call the other.

That said ACC refs always gonna ACC ref. We shouldn't have given them the chance to matter.

I don't think he was out of bounds either.

We had other bad penalties, several holdings, and the motion penalty on that funky looking third and one play. One of the holdings negated a beautiful first down throw by Garrett.

a very winnable game that we blew.

As a basketball fan, and NFL fan, feel free to disregard but I thought the one on them was obvious, but not the one on us.

Schraeder had already gotten rid of the ball. Was at least 2 steps out of bounds. I could live with them not calling it, but seemed kinda obvious.

Clemson QB was still dancing for extra yards on the sideline, in my view had no foot out of bounds yet, and no whistle had blown - so, seems like open season still. Like, he hadn't given himself up even, he was trying to get a foot down whether he did or not seems almost irrelevant. But maybe QB protection rules????

Schraeder was way out of bounds before the throttling.

It’s all just gut wrenching. I hope clemson gets absolutely trashed in the playoff since the ACC seems so hell bent to get them there

2nd half penalties:
Syracuse: 8 - 78
Clemson: 2 - 10

- Missed hold on Clemson on their last offensive snap in 1st half. Would have taken them out of FG range. Potential 3 point swing.
- 'Late hit' on Fuentes. Clemson would have punted. 7 point swing.
- Missed late hit on Shrader on the very next possession. Would have given SU first down.
- 'DPI' late in 4Q. Goes from Clemson punt to FG. 3 point swing.

On that 3rd and 1 it looked like 2 Clemson defenders were across the line prior to offense moving

We aren't that good that we can beat a team like Clemson at Clemson by a large margin. There are going to be calls. And if they aren't straight, and they never are there, it just makes it too tough.

But Clemson out of the CFP is a loss to the NCAA
Not that much. Two sec schools and Ohio st. The other team can be almost anyone. They weren't hurting last year without them. The ACC on the other hand, and it is ACC refs, they lose a lot if Clemson isn't in.
