we spent alot of years never quite getting over the hump back in the 70s. there are signs here, just like then, we need more bodies, the D played pretty well today but until we get an oline the rest will just be done with magic,

You still need a deep threat and a running game.. help is on the way for both of those.

last I looked at the ACC this year

BC got thumped by Wake who only had 300 yds

Pitt got thumped by PSU and with Ok St could be 1-2

NCst in a dog fight to stop going 0-2

next week is the season though for a bowl game.

Bowl game is out the window now. That's why everyone is disgusted. They will get better this year and it won't matter

Yup. The only path to a bowl was starting 3-0, and even then it was unlikely.

They can beat Wake, BC, Pitt or NC State, but now they need to beat ALL of them. Very little chance of that.

We lost at home as a double digit favorite to a mid-major in year two. So people are stupid for being freaked out?

Clemson lost their QB today too. the D played well enough to win, thats at least a positive

we played awful and yet still had the game in control until a non contact Turnover. this too shall pass

and the clemson Qb comes back in

I'm chopping this up to Babers not having the offense mentally prepared to be playing against Shafer. Letting the players talk to Shafer before the game was a big mistake as well. Just exchanging pleasantries can easily get into a kid's head. The defense played well enough, but the offense couldn't get it together. They need to come out firing on all cylinders next week to get over this.

after the first quarter i dont think the SS thing made much of difference..
we adjusted and moved the ball but didnt score
we can block so few deep shots and struggle to run. you fix much until the oline works.

we cant function if we drops 90% of the balls thrown more than 15 yds down field.

Today was a discouraging mess full of mistakes and the worst possible coordinator to lose to. Anger will run rampant.

But we have to stay the course.

Yep. If Babers in unsuccessful then this program is doomed. No hyperbole, this is probably our last shot. Only way we can be good is with a unique scheme and focused recruiting. It's Dino or bust.

Couldn't agree more. It's Dino or bust and a loss like today should keep most programs away for some time. Freaking pathetic.

IMO, the botched punt cost the game

SU needs a game changer for recruiting. Mac had the dome to sell. The SU Admin need to step up to the plate or go home.

THIS! We need a coach to be here for more than 3-4 years. It's going to take a long long time before we get back to any level of systemic respect. Recruiting is dramatically up so we all know it's going to happen - just need Babers to be here for a solid 5 years plus.

Simply in my mind the coaching carousel is killing this program...carousel leaves new coaches with very little to work with. Very dark right now for the program but lots of football left to play even this year. Oline play needs to improve dramatically or it's going to be a very long season.
