I think we played too many guys, frankly. You need to develop consistency. I don’t want JB’s old 6-7 man rotation, but I’d rather have 8, maybe 9, key guys. That’s ideal. Ultimately, though, we just need better players. To keep guys like him, you have to play your bench consistently. That was one of Autry's biggest failings last year, IMO.

Yep, when it costs them playing time, it tends to become more of a priority. When guys are letting the opponent dribble right by them and straight to the rim, then I think that guy needs to sit down. And almost every guy on the team last year was guilty of that, so I don't see how you reward guys who don't play defense by NOT taking them out.
You think we can explain his playing time and substitution patterns, when Red can't even do that?!!?Yeah, he's the one guy who got to play. What about McLeod and Cuffe not seeing any time until January? What about Donnie and Choppa playing in first halves, and then not getting back in?
From here on out, I’ll be spelling Peter the normal way again.
Red was horrible at substitutions last year. The worst I have ever seen. I could never figure out what the heck he was thinking or trying to accomplish. You think we can explain his playing time and substitution patterns, when Red can't even do that?!!?
He was really good at icing a hot shooter...Red was horrible at substitutions last year. The worst I have ever seen. I could never figure out what the heck he was thinking or trying to accomplish.

That's too bad.
Kid had potential, sorry to see this.
Of course, but you only need 8 really good players to do that. A guard, forward and center sub. JB pulled guys all the time for poor defense and only played 7-8 max. When guys are letting the opponent dribble right by them and straight to the rim, then I think that guy needs to sit down. Honestly Red was horrific at almost all aspects of coaching last year. I can’t think of a single positive he brings to the program as HC. Just don’t think he has a clue how to lead our program with all the headwinds were currently facingRed was horrible at substitutions last year. The worst I have ever seen. So...you're on the fence with Red?Honestly Red was horrific at almost all aspects of coaching last year. I can’t think of a single positive he brings to the program as HC. Just don’t think he has a clue how to lead our program with all the headwinds were currently facing
Agree, but that was not a bar that required a great vertical to clear.Kid was arguably the most fundamentally sound player on the team.

yes...our own hot shooter, go on a heater, then take him out, SMH...He was really good at icing a hot shooter...
