Agreed. SU coaches are definitely putting in the work for guys like Chris, Kiyan, Acaden, Jordan Smith in 2026, etc. May not prevail for some of them, but it won't be for a lack of recruiting aggressively.

Crazy how it's like gambler's row. Do you take a kid who is ranked higher or lower on your board that will commit or wait it out for a higher ranked kid to string you along and you don't know.

People will be mad if coaches don’t recruit the high ranked kids. People will be mad if they don’t get the high ranked kid. People will be mad if they land a lower ranked kid saying they should get more higher ranked kids. The cycle never ends until you land them with consistency but at least they are trying unlike years past

Yes, I would agree. I also think the landing of them is happening with much more frequency than anything post-2016.

The Fine situation must have really spooked JB, or his appetite to fight for recruits really diminished.

Feel like he went there to watch Smith Jr. and Cenac happened to be there as well. This is more indicative of Cuse's reputation the last 8-10 years and not really ever featuring bigs. That may all change over the next couple of years.

There will be plenty more Cenac's in future grad classes. Can't expect a team that hasn't made the tournament in a couple of years to land everyone. Just have to keep plugging away and good things will happen.

There will be plenty more Cenac's in future grad classes. Can't expect a team that hasn't made the tournament in a couple of years to land everyone. Just have to keep plugging away and good things will happen.

Oh, totally agree, Straughn was there for Smith as well. And I definitely don't think SU is gonna land every target, agree with you there. Recruiting is still on the uptick...definitely agree regarding big men.
