Class of 2025 PF Francis Folefac (MD) Portal from Siena

Eeeeehhhhhhhhhhh I hate using a hypothetical as evidence but if you put White on Siena last season and Folefac on Syracuse last season I'm pretty sure White beats Folefac's Siena numbers and Folefac doesn't come close to the numbers or minutes White logged.
There are some wild takes being thrown around to put these Siena guys on a pedestal. It's unnecessary.

Sadiq's floor is far higher than Folefac's.

It's because Gerry players are superior to Red players, all things being equal bnoro, and DON'T YOU DARE EVEN INSINUATE THAT ALL THINGS ARE NOT EQUAL

Agree in the main, but Folefac isn't going to the NBA. So if they pay him...

Times have changed.
Sports leagues are full of guys who were written off because of one perceived deficiency or another. How many people thought Austin Reaves was an NBA player? Many experts here chided Jerami Grant, expounding that he wouldn’t make the NBA.

None of which changes my point.

Folefacs absolute ceiling is Norchad Omier. His physical presence and versatility are absolutely valuable as a bench piece you can plug in and I’m higher than most on him.

That said Sadiq is one of a couple guys with real NBA potential we have next year and has elite athleticism. There is no long term comparison to ceiling with FF. Not the thread for it but Red and staff maybe did the biggest disservice to how they handled Sadiq. A motion offense that actually does what it’s supposed to will be great for him as will a defense where he isn’t the only one out there actually defending. A whole team matching that energy should help avoid him being picked on by the refs. He was like Justin Thomas out there in the 6th OT while every else was in quick sand and the refs penalized him for it.

Omier put up 12/12 as a freshman and 18/12 as a sophomore in his two years at Ark St, which plays in a better league than Siena. He averaged a double double in all 5 of his years in college.

Folefac put up 11/5 last year.

Folefac doesn't have an NBA ceiling, or an Omier ceiling. He can be a good player but it's a massive over projection based on nothing.

This kid went from being a no star recruit to a starter who more than held his own in a tournament game against Duke. And is the best defender, per GMAC, on a Siena team focused on defense.

He got this way from sheer hard work and willing to learn from his coaches.

I think this kid can make some massive improvements over the next 3 years, especially with AO's guidance.

Get this kid! Overpay a bit if necessary!

Hopefully Auburn doesn't over pay for him

You can’t project Folefacs ceiling after one year. Also absolute ceiling is absolutely a fair assessment. Most kids never get there. Usually 80 pct for those that do well and 50-60 pct for the rest. It takes the exceptions to get all the way. I think you took my post the wrong way. Also Omier is actually only 6-5 … and I’d venture a guess Folefac is probably 6-6 more than 6-7..

I’m not touting the kid as the next anything just saying he’s got potential and some value.

I've been more interested in Folefac since Sadiq announced he's returning. I think having both on the court together would help complement one another. Folefac can be the physical presence that saves some abuse from White and allows him more freedom to do things in space. Maybe help keep some fouls off him as well.

Totally agree about Sadiq's having been mishandled and underutilized. I posted similar many times. However, I think Sadiq's issues with the refs had to do more with how much emotion he played with, unlike almost everybody else on last season's roster. The refs will always take it out on any guy who shows emotion when they think that emotion is directed at them.

Wanna see that emotion is next year's squad, well worth a few extra foul calls.

So hopefully Gerry has 800K burning a hole in his pocket, and I will buck up $44 so Cuse can put a better offer on the table than GT.

BTW, how much are we paying the rest of the Siena kids.

Well….. $ was not supposed to be an issue if we hired Gmac. That was not supposed to be an obstacle…..

Yeah so here's the thing. This guy has a slot and value to Syracuse. No idea what Syracuse is offering but if its not close to GT for whatever reason (slotting, money budgeted elsewhere, etc), then move on. Glad the kid is getting his nut. We are not talking about Charles Oakley here. I would rather Syracuse move on.

We were told money will not be a object and we will be in the upper 1/3 of the ACC..
