Second that Red focuses on no more than 8 players and lets them connect. Let them come together. He doesn't need to be JB but he can't expect to build a team by rotating as much as did last year. It was an enormous cluster. As bad as I have ever seen, and I hope that he learned from it.
Finally, I want him to love the kids up but make it tough love. No more coddling. Take a chapter from Fran.
At this point it looks like we are going to have a roster that can hang. It's going to come down to coaching and effort. We are not going to buy our way into the dance. We will still need to earn it, but it does look as if we are going to have the talent to compete. Hats off to Red, Kline, JW, and the boosters that have stepped up. Last season was a nightmare. Sad. Its good to have a little wind in our sails.

Adding a kid like this and now Deng and you look at the rest of the roster and now, run and gun makes sense. Lots of athletes, more two way players, two players at the point who are playmakers and a few really good shooters. It’s a team that is constructed with a vision that you can connect the dots on style of play.

Also the experience factor to me with this kid outweighs not having a 7 footer on the floor. Although I know Donnie is listed at 6-9 but didn’t he jump up to 6-10 or 6-11 per reports last year( not Rothstein lol)

Right now Cuffe, Petar, Moore, Bell, Westry are in the portal with “interested parties” but not landed. At least I don’t think they landed? Let that sink in. 0 of 5 of our guys that left have a home. That says a lot about their talent level.

I don't know how much that means really.

Moore and Bell are the most interesting guys we had portal out. Has there been any news on Moore? Bell's been making visits.

I mean he was over 8 rebs a game per 40 so that’s a good sign too.

I mean you aren’t even trying here so no point in going line by line. There is plenty written about all these guys including the freshmen plus a second year Donnie. You are entitled to crap all over it and disagree but the rankings of this class and everything else pointed out makes it clear of the talent upgrade.

Talent won’t be the issue if we struggle again. Coaching will.

Just the transfers in from portal are weak, we have 2 good freshmen coming in who will need a few years to mature to contribute to the level we need, JJ and Freeman should be solid, but we will struggle

The GT Pg is a major upgrade at the point , Kingz is a major upgrade over Bell. Deng will be a big upgrade to the bench with size and experience. Kyle fits the style of play and is a big improvement on the defensive side. Overall we’ve improved talent and athleticism in almost every position

Just watched some more on this kid and i really like him. Has a some Hak in his game with a better handle

Retaining Freeman is just being ignored over and over. He would be a top 10 portal guy if he left and we would be furious to lose him.

That is the #1 impact portal player we got this year.
