at this point i dont care how much eligibility any player has.

its not a bonus to me if they have more than 1 year

heres why. if they are very good...they may be gone to NBA or Duke or wherever...and we want very good players!

if they arent very good they may be shown the door (should be)

the only ones that will probably stay are the guys that you arent super excited to keep..the middle of the road guys

we just have to realize that every year is a blank slate in this era

it is good to have some continuity and program guys but it wont help a ton with winning imo...at least not to become elite

then again, this is why I dislike the portal era

Multiple years are important because you can’t keep relying on signing 5+ transfers each year. At some point, we will need to put all our money on the best 1-2 players to raise the ceiling of the team. Yes, they can transfer after one year, but you’re betting on yourself to develop your guys to make them want to stay.

If we could get this kid, I would be very happy. He's got the 3 point shooting that Petar might have offered, is more athletic, and has good size.

Deng is the big - a stretch 4/5 kind of like what I hoped Petar would be.

I don't think anyone is saying Sadiq would start over him, neither would be starting. PG- George, SG- Starling, SF- Kingz, PF- Freeman, C- Kyle/portal big. There is no world in which Freeman is the starting center for next year.

This guy just looks like a bigger version of Bell. He can knock it down from deep but does nothing else. If we want this guy to be a Vinnie "Microwave"Johnson for us off the bench then sure but otherwise we should spend elsewhere. Spend on another athletic rim protector center and let's have 10 fouls worth of that ability every game. We have guys who can score and pass. Add more rebounds, blocks, altered shots and dunk put backs.

Kingz is more guard than forward IMO. Same with Kiyan.

We currently have just 2 pure forwards. We need at least 1 more kid with some ability to be a 3/4 or 4/5. We need some size. We don’t even know if Sadiq is ready to play at this level so not sure why we wouldn’t be interested in a kid like Deng. I understand why he might not be interested but his size and skills are exactly what we need.

Who told you we didn't like Deng? Not me. I think there is a good chance he ends up Orange. Unless someone comes in and offers crazy dough and a sure starting spot. You know, like Vegas just did.

He'd be a nice addition to the roster. A big that can hit the three. But, he better toughen up.
