That happened to me. Never had a shoulder dislocation in my life. Dislocated it in a freak situation about 9 years ago -- probably have dislocated it 6-7 times since. Once it pops out once, the muscles/ligaments are never the same even with PT.

If his shoulder keeps popping out, he may need surgery at some point to tighten it up.

Unfortunately I think this kid will have issues for the rest of his life. Shoulders are a fickle joint. Once they get out of whack they never seem to heal completely. I wish the kid well.

I had that surgery myself and you are 100% correct that it never will be the same. I feel for this kid because this will be with him the rest of his life.
