Class of 2026 - PG Dylan Mingo (NY / LuHi) to UNC | Syracusefan.com

Class of 2026 PG Dylan Mingo (NY / LuHi) to UNC

He’s very good defensively both on and off the ball. Looks good shooting the three. He has very good vision and finds people. Doesn’t look explosive off the dribble. He dribbles a lot and doesn’t go anywhere. If he gets to the basket, he’s pretty sneaky finishing. His length will allow him to become elite defensively.

I like the posted HS highlight film much more than the AAU highlight film. The LuHi highlights really show his versatility and all around game (defense, passing, playing both on and off the ball), whereas the PSA/AAU highlight show one clip after another of him over dribbling with his head down and essentially just playing 1v1. I don't necessarily view that as a knock against Mingo (or any other player for that matter), just more of the bigger issue with how AAU ball is.

Saw him two times while watching Kiyan on TV last year. He's a good prospect, but I didn't necessarily come away thinking he was a PG in those games, based upon how he played.

Not knocking him, just that he seems like a combo -- kind of like those guys we used to recruit under JB who had height / length for the zone, that we'd try to convert to PG. Don't see Mingo as a natural 1 at this stage.

This is definitely accurate. I love that he stuffs the stat sheet though; he led Long Island Lutheran in rebounding this season as a combo guard.

I haven't seen Dylan play enough to evaluate. From the general discussion though, I get the feeling his game is similar to the Knicks Josh Hart. Nationally, he is 13'th rated player in the class of 26' according to 247. As others have mentioned before, curious that we waited so long to offer.

Josh Hart is not a PG.

Looked at his offer sheet...UNC, St Johns, L'ville, Texas, Bama---and others.
Plays D...Can shoot from outside...can get to the rim with either hand...

Naaah...we should pass...better to "portal poach" and get that PG from a" bucknell".
Honestly though, time might be spent better elsewhere. Hes going to be well outside of our price range considering you have Louisville and Bama in the mix. Maybe relationships win out though, who knows.
