Class of 2026 PG Dylan Mingo (NY / LuHi)

Is it true Mingo RECENTLY followed a bunch of Syracuse coaches?

He already was followed by and followed back coaches Brunt and Lee ( previously Brunt because of PSU), Doty, Moesch and Kiyan( they played at LuHi) together as of yesterday but don’t know for how long or if any of all that is new recently.

1, are we actually involved here and 2, is this guy good enough to hand the keys to the point guard job to?
He's the #1 ranked PG in his class so if he isn't good enough, this class has some serious problems lol. He's a poor shooter but is one of those guys that stuffs the box score in basically every category. Averaged 21/9 reb/4 ast per 40 minutes a couple years ago when he was sharing the ball handling with his brother and Kiyan. Didn't really play this HS season.

I don't remember The Pearl even attempting a shot outside of 17 feet - except for one. Also couldn't dunk. Not that he's Pearl aside from being considered the top PG coming out of high school.

Surely I’m missing something in this comparison? The 3-point line didn’t even exist when Pearl played. The game from 1980s to 2020s is like two different games and what’s expected from the point guard spot in 2026 to 1984... I’m not sure the point of comparing Pearl Washington’s success to Dylan Mingo even is?

Ah, didn't realize he was rated that highly.

Still has to like the coach. Malone doesn’t seem overly likable
The players on the nuggets turned on him quickly. Thats why he got canned. Unc may have a lot of dough though bc he didn’t pay for a buyout for a coach. Apparently that was a big deal

This is true but I think a lot of it stemmed from he and the front office having extreme disagreements over the players they wanted to bring in, which presumably will not be an issue in college where it's really all his show.

Play together? I’m sure they can both be in at same time.
Skillset aside, they have the size to be a backcourt. That would be a poor shooting backcourt, but two highly ranked guards. Personally, rankings don't matter so much anymore. It is all about building the roster that fits the style that wins games. But, rankings energize the casual fanbase which builds NIL.
