He said commitment soon. I don’t think April is soon.Wouldn't say that. Wants to commit by April, looking at getting out here.

Why is it that Syracuse basketball only has one booster to offer NIL in any comparable amounts to other P5 schools? Last night I had dinner with an Auburn University professor, and he said their boosters were ready to fire coach Harsin during his first year. the boosters came up with enough money to pay his 20+ million dollar buyout in year 2.Ugh so even the $1 million NIL from Weitsman isn’t going to do it? Although I wonder how much the other schools (notably UNC, Kansas and Texas) are offering.
First of all there’s other NIL besides Weitsman. Secondly the guys getting paid more than a million are less than you think. This stuff is easily searchable on google. Way too much emotion and not enough facts being said by a few of you in this thread.Fans need to realize that one million is not going to get the top players in hoops. Double or triple that to get in the running.
"I talk to one of their assistants the most..." Interesting.
Issue is that Weitsman said he would only offer the million to 5 star guys, which obviously isn’t enough to compete with the schools that typically go after 5 star guys nowadays. Weitsman might need to shift it to Top 50 guys IMO.Syracuse should just stay out of the one and done space altogether. I had this conversation with John Wallace and a few friends last summer. It’s better to pay 3 or 4 guys ranked 30-100 that will stay a few years and grow together than go after one and done guys. The one and done teams have not been the elite teams in college basketball the past 5 seasons.

More like ignoring it on purpose. We don’t. Have you completely missed the multiple discussions about the collectives?
Mark Adams is a really good coach and there’s not as much distractions and expectations in Lubbock compared to the other schools on his list. It’s because the first year he got into CBB was when Texas Tech went to the finals and he liked the way they play defense.
You have to realize how young these recruits are and their view on CBB is all recency bias.
our collective, however well-intentioned, cannot compete with public schools that we are in direct competition with for recruits. Why do you think we recently lost a top basketball recruit to Tennessee? We don’t. Have you completely missed the multiple discussions about the collectives?

Bees as much as I respect you as a poster, I don’t even think we’re in the same ballpark as public P5 schools. If you know for a fact that the collectives are paying current players to keep them here, what dollar ranges are we talking about? 20k, 50k, 500k??You asked why we only have one. That’s what I responded to. Does that mean you know how much every donor to the two major collectives donated? Did anyone say we have as much NIL as every school? Did you know we kept as many as 12 football players because of our NIL collectives? Do you know anything about 2 or more bball players were kept because of our NIL collectives.
Unfortunately I agree with youCarolina...
How do you think we kept the NFL draft choices and Shrader, Williams, Duce, Jones and Wax? They didn’t stay out of the kindness of their hearts.Bees as much as I respect you as a poster, I don’t even think we’re in the same ballpark as public P5 schools. What I think many schools are doing now is redirecting donors to give money towards player salaries through NIL instead of facility upgrades
Interesting.FYI. I caught up with Adam W. not too long ago.
Syracuse Basketball: Adam Weitsman offers 7-figure NIL deal to 5-star PG
