This player is intriguing. Has athleticism, height, and dexterity that you can’t teach. Yet his production of 8.4p is unimpressive. How bad must his outside game/J be if he can manage all those driving, one-handed swoop dunks? Guess I gotta watch some full game replays to know how I feel…. I like the D and the athletics. Hope he can be schemed to maximize the skills he does have.

I never understood why teams have jumped so quick in the portal. There’s always kids who end up not putting their names in until later in the process. Be patient…lock in here and get your C and PG identified. And we will have to overpay until we become a destination again…it’s gonna happen.

when you have $10m+, you can spend on 2-3 guys and they haven’t done that yet. I wanted an explosive PG who could score and I’m just cranky that’s not happening. Again he could be the backup but until I see someone else I will remain cranky lol

I have the guy. We will love this kid. He is 6-4 Good size. handles the ball well. Just finsihed his 4th year Jr season. Not an out size shooter at all. He averaged 3 pts a game asa Jr with 1.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists. He is the starter at the pt. His name was Laz Simms.

Let's keep in mind - the last two years were screwed because we way overpaid at the PG and C positions (George & Lampkin). If all we do is avoid that mistake, we get better.

We're just one of probably 50 or more schools who have the $$
to attract the big names. Every school needs to have a difference
maker to make them more attractive. The one difference maker we don't have is a recent history of success on the court.

We can parlay the dome and any dynamic that GMac can bring to the party, but that's about it. With a pool of $2m talent that's out there, we may get the lower end of that group. Not bad but not the upper level some fans are looking for.

You know a lot about 3M? I don't care whether any of us know thse guys. Makes no difference to me. What I do care about is balance. And so far, we aren't balanced on offense. Well, maybe we are when you think, we don't have a low post scorer or any elite outside shooter other than 3M. I know how much money we had at the start, and I am starting to worry about that thing where someone said that Gerry wanted to save money for next year might be true. Insane if it is.

Gerry doesn’t get 2 years with me. Must win next year. No clue what we are saving it for.

Not being mentioned: If this guy is a defensive specialist who plays 20 a game across multiple positions, this is a home run pickup. He can guard against PG, SG, SF. He can also put the ball in the basket if he is left alone on offense. Sort of the Maliq Brown type role at Duke (except as a guard). Smart coaches spend money on a guy like that.

Exactly. I love this kid as a plug and play off the bench at 3 different spots, while also being able to run serious backup minutes at the point. The problem comes in with fit if he’s playing 25+ minutes a game at point.
