Your gatekeeping efforts are just ridiculous.

Your application of one player’s fortunes/results to any others is also ridiculous. George played in a given context last year. The previous year, he played in a different context. I think we were mostly pleased to get him. So, I guess since he was a ‘bust,’ we shouldn’t go after people we would be pleased to get. We shouldn’t go after a “top pg.” We shouldn’t pay a PG $3M…. Please codify all the rules that would keep you happy, with both the roster and how we communicate here.

Sometimes the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. 31 years ago we lost Moten, Lucious Jackson and Michael Lloyd but followed it up with a national championship game appearance. Then 17 years ago we lost Flynn, Harris and Devo yet bounced back with one of the best teams we ever had. You just never know.

Actually, my friend, Wilkins played for the #65 team in KenPom - McNeese State, and Temple was 159th, behind Towson, Idaho, William & Mary, Wright State and about 20 more punching bags.

So, no, I disagree that Temple played a tougher schedule, or was a better team. Both played a strength of schedule a little over 100.

Funny enough, our new guy here Dual is the one who actually played for the #65 KenPom team in McNeese State.

That said, Wilkins is rated as a top 50 transfer, per the Athletic, so posters pooping on him now are also playing the coping game.

I wouldn’t say popping on him. The big thing is his shooting isn’t much different than Dual and he was worse than George with turnovers against a lower level of competition. I think it’s fair to say if there are people hating on Doty for only having a couple P5 opponents he’s played and looking at the Duke game as a primary example he can hack it at this level then the same thoughts should apply with Wilkens. Otherwise it’s just a double standard palooza based on personal preferences.

With Dual at least you have a kid whose played against P5 competition many times having been in the BE two years.
