We have the advantage of hindsight now which puts things in a different light on paper.

George collected stats, turnovers and offered zero floor leadership even if we only executed when he was out there in part because JJ was so poor. Donnie was not only still injury prone but also didn’t improve. Kyle was better than what showed on paper. Kingz took half the year to showcase who he was on offense. JJ was a 3 star in 5 star clothing.

The previous year reality was even worse vs on paper. Both coaching and talent eval turned out to be bottom of the P5 barrel when all was said and done.’

I'm really not sure what you're saying in response to my post. I was simply saying that the way things are trending, that it's more likely that we end up with a roster no more talented than the last three years. At this point, no one can say whether this is right or wrong.

I'm really not sure what you're saying in response to my post. I was simply saying that the way things are trending, that it's more likely that we end up with a roster no more talented than the last three years. At this point, no one can say whether this is right or wrong.

Sure, there are always many ways to look at things, I agree. As I said earlier, I'm commenting on what I see now and that can and will change as things unfold. That might get better, but it might get worse. Coaching staff has nothing to do with my comment on talent acquired in portal.

Sure, there are always many ways to look at things, I agree. As I said earlier, I'm commenting on what I see now and that can and will change as things unfold. That might get better, but it might get worse. Coaching staff has nothing to do with my comment on talent acquired in portal.

How i see it so far is this be it wrong or right-

- We added a 4/5 star euro
- We added a G with a higher BPR last year than anyone on our roster has had over the past 3 years
- We retained two top 40 recruits setup for what should be a big jump as is typical and paired that with a staff that includes a reputation of development across the board at numerous stops as well as Siena for those that followed Gerry
-We are aiming to close ( with some hinting we are well situated) with the biggest offensive addition to the backcourt.
- We added a backup 5 that rebounds well an good size and is an upgrade at that backup spot ( even if that’s not a high bar to clear)
- We likely have good money still to spend

How we finish matters a great deal but that stacks up better vs previous years with half a roster still to go..

Have you read any articles on ESPN or SI that talk about how a team has 2 pools of money, or how one is trending versus the other?

Lot of posters will do a 180 on him if he plays hard with great defense.

Guys played for an NCAA tournament team, but he's not good enough for Cuse?...Have you watched the last decade of Cuse bball, lol. Playing hard should be in the top 2 criterion for Gerry in this re-build because it would be indicative of coachability. Gerry almost knocked off Duke with 3-4 Lotto picks with 5 guys...Some of these posters think Sherman Douglas or Pearl is going to walk through the door with the past decade of irrelevance...This isn't 1988...
