In my opinion he’s better than Wilkins.
Identical numbers. Both 18 and 5.In my opinion he’s better than Wilkins.
Yeah this guy is not Jaquan Carlos. He’s wanted by power schools.Think it would be a big mistake on our part to be completely honest with you. We need to start pulling in some proven high major players. We all saw how 24-25 season went.
I mean cox has a solid group of teams tooIdentical numbers. Both 18 and 5.
Wilkins played in a tougher conference, is taller, and is younger. Wilkins has a better list of schools who have contacted him. Wilkins was the best player on an NCAA tournament team, and dominated UConn.
Anyone know if this guy is legit as Mike M. retweeted it -

Hmm. You think so? Are you sure they aren’t just unattractive names on paper when in reality they’re probably really good and would fit with what Gerry is going for?Nowhere near any sort of panic mode. Long way to go. But a Cox, Doty backcourt is bottom tier ACC. Great mid-major players and good kids from what I hear, but that backcourt is no better than anything we had in 24-25.
I would love for them to work out and I think Doty will be awesome and a surprise. Bottom line is Cox was the best player on an ok Patriot League team. Lehigh won the conference and got ran out of the gym in Dayton. It’s a significant jump in talent level coming to the ACC.Hmm. You think so? Idk I think it’s solid tbh. We are too drawn to that season. Terrible coach and Carlos was too small with no offensive ability.Nowhere near any sort of panic mode. Long way to go. Understood but to be fair, Taylor & Carlos were never that good to begin with.I would love for them to work out and I think Doty will be awesome and a surprise. I see a major problem in your two starting guards coming from low level division one basketball. Just like Lucas Taylor and all of those dudes. They are complimentary players at this level.
Doty will be brilliant here but not if he has to play like he did at Siena.
Ehh Cox was way more efficient and didn’t turn the ball over at the rate Wilkins did. It’s not like Cox didn’t play well against good competition. It’s the classic production vs potential argument.Identical numbers. Both 18 and 5.

I would love to be wrong. They are awesome kids.Idk I think it’s solid tbh. We are too drawn to that season. Terrible coach and Carlos was too small with no offensive ability.
I completely hear all of your guys sides to the argument. And if we land Cox, I will definitely be rooting to be wrong. But I see a similar pattern of mistakes being made if we do go that path.Ehh Cox was way more efficient and didn’t turn the ball over at the rate Wilkins did. But with 12m + available. We gotta go get some proven high major players. Go spend on Wilkinson, who was the best player on an 8 seed and scored 30 points in Buffalo @ NCAA Tournament. Think it’s worth it to drop 2.5 million on a kid like that.
Just with the position our program is in, I think it’s way too risky to put two guys from Colgate and Siena in our backcourt and hope that they punch above their expected weight this coming season.
I totally get it but who says we arnt going to get two top level guards? I could see that happening. I’m sure we have plenty of money leftI would love to be wrong. They are awesome kids.

Literally no one wanted Carlos… completely different situation. Carlos had a couple nice games. Cox put up big numbers at a high rate of efficiency all year long and will be a senior coming in.
Not comparable at all. Carlos did not put up the numbers Cox did. And Cox is 6’3”.I completely hear all of your guys sides to the argument. And if we land Cox, I will definitely be rooting to be wrong. But I see a similar pattern of mistakes being made if we do go that path.
Pretty solid. You put other talent around himLast year vs Florida, MSU and Illinois, he averaged 11.3/5/5.
I remember during their first scrimmage posters were comparing him to Ennis
