Class of 2023 PG Jalen Cox (CA) Portal from Colgate (Interest)

This is the Cox we should be looking at signing…
Along with Luke Wilson. Comedy gold Jerry, gold

This guy would be the perfect add to this roster.

Cox is the kind of PG I would like to have if I were coach, because I think scoring point guards are the most effective ... but I watched Gerry get up on the podium before he signed a single player and say he wanted great defenders, high motor guys, and guys who dont turn the ball over and Duel is the perfect manifestation of that player. I think Gerry is planning on starting him for this reason, and would Cox come to sit the bench? He will definitely be getting starting offers from other schools.

I was thinking Cox starts and Dual is a super sub across 1-3. But I think you might be right about what Gerry is thinking.

Adding to this, Dual could realistically start 1-3 as well if they do bring in a Jalen Cox type player. So I would hope that him being here doesn’t hand cuff another guard addition

If Wilkins was almost ours I have to believe Gerry is also looking for a massive talent at that spot if he can get it. The current option can work too but a high end talent at PG works too…

It looks like to me that we're no longer in on this kid but the board is keeping his thread active so it's giving some false belief (at least that's my take - I would LOVE to be wrong though). I think he would be a great fit.

Yeah I put zero stock in lists like this. Doesn't seem like we're involved at all
The list was from almost two weeks ago. We were involved but unfortunately does not seem to be the case at this point. He may have visited at one point

I know the list was from two weeks ago. I'm saying the initial "interest lists" are pointless because a coach could've sent one "what's your price?" text and they're on that list. Even if we have zero interest.

Doesn’t sound like there’s any motion with Jalen to Cuse. I’d put a good amount of money on him going elsewhere. Eyes peeled for Somerville though.

Yup. Gerry has told us explixcity what he values and just about every add to date fits that profile. Dual and Doty are poster versions of that vision. They are going to be given the opportunity to prove it on the court. It doesn't matter what others think of that plan or the need to add a high end scoring PG.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gerry feels he is set 1-3. If this roster building pattern continues, adding to the frontcourt seems like the better bet with whatever is left of the NIL. And maybe another "I know good when I see it" lottery ticket.
