Pick One Cuse Player Since ‘03

Find it interesting that so many prefer Ennis over MCW. MCW may not have been as efficient a scorer, but was one of the most dominant defending/facilitating college pg’s I’ve ever seen. Still remember his heroics against Louisville
I think MCW was a little too inconsistent offensively to fit the question

To me Ennis will represent two things: 25-0, and the end of the vaunted Syracuse Fast Break.

The thing I loved about Ennis is that he, no matter what, always played at his own pace. That really allowed plays to develop, mismatches to happen, and he always knew where to find the open man when he did speed it up. His ability to control the game is something I haven't seen in my years as a Syracuse fan (born in 1991)

Agreed. I loved him on defense but he drove me insane offensively. Similar to how I felt about Jason Hart.

Great point. That Louisville game was such a fun regular season game to watch too. Triche dominated the first half. Also, I believe Southerland missed that game as part of his time sitting out due to the friendly NCAA.
MCW is the poster child for waiting your turn to take the lead and the spotlight (along with Z Sims). I remember hearing that MCW would have left if Dion had come back but I’m not sure how true that was.

This would be very tough...I think I'd have to go with Devo, but MCW and Dion would not be far behind(in that order).

Is it based on what they did here or potential?

Just to throw out a new name Jerami Grant

I’d say Warrick was our best player since Melo - but since the original post said Melo/GMac I kinda included him in that group too.

Even so, I might not take him here. Given the scenario, I want a guy who has the ball in his hands...not a guy we have to get the ball to. Since that narrowed it down to Flynn, Dion, Silent G, and MCW to me.

MCW and Dion’s duds in their last games against Michigan and Ohio State eliminated them.

Silent G as a 5th year senior who could do it all...strongly considered him.

But ultimately Flynn was just too dynamic. And even in that Oklahoma game where we were overmatched he put up 22 and 6 on 9-16 shooting and tried to take a charge on Blake Griffin with a head of steam. Kid always showed. Always.

This is not about a possession or a swing.

We do not have the depth of talent the opposing team has.

We have a cuse team that plays well together and need a leader to take the game over from start to finish
Then it’s Jonny Flynn or Dion Waiters for me. Maybe Devo or Silent G, both of whom could shoot and drive to the basket, would be runners up. But as OrangeDW says above, Flynn was just so dynamic and heady and could create for himself as well as others.
