Gopher fans are definitely sad about Oliver leaving. He was passed by a RS Soph a few games ago, but he's an explosive athlete and played a lot -- especially on passing downs. The other transfer that stings is Michael Dixon who started at the "monster" position -- basically a hybrid safety/slot corner spot. Super athlete and very physical on the edge. None of the other transfers announced so far were impact players, although some had high hopes for Austin Booker, an edge from Indiana who was injured a lot of this season. On the bright side, our All B1G safety, Tyler Nubin, announced he's returning for year 5. He was projected as a top 60 pick, so that was huge news.

What's the portal looking like for Syracuse so far? I just noticed you're losing a DE that some are bummed about.

So far Steve Linton is the only impactful loss going to the transfer portal so far. Our concern for the moment is whether Tucker and Bergeron (OL) will play or sit out, as well as if Williams (CB) and Mikel (LB) will play (both are hurt).

The first window opens the day after the championship teams are selected, which will be Dec. 5, and closes 45 days later on Jan. 18, 2023. There is also a 15-day spring period from May 1-15.

If you're transferring, you want to have a new home before the Spring Semester starts, or you may not have a landing spot.
