What are best case scenarios from here on out?

We are going on the road and facing a team that lost by 2 to the team that just destroyed our team, not sure that’s an overreaction.
If you’re going to transitive property this thing maybe you should mention they lost to NC State at home after we beat NC State. It wasn’t like Pitt dominated our defense. We gave them the game with turnovers.

100% true on the turnovers.

I still think 9-3 is very possible. Terrible games happen. Doesn't change fact that defense is getting a little healthier with our best player fully back now, and our best cover corner back (who was robbed of a great pick).

To me the season always hedged on the games against GT, Va Tech and NC State. I never had much faith against Pitt because they were better than their record last year and did a good job reloading.

So far we've won two of the coin flip games and then lost a What one to Stanford. We beat Va Tech and we've got a shot at 9, though, I think 8 is probably more likely. Win that, split one of the two games against Cal and BC, and beat Uconn.

Lose Va Tech and we then have to sweep BC/Cal, which I'm less confident of so that's where we're back to 7.

7 wins would be a disappointment given we beat Ga. Tech and NC State IMO. But that's the reality of losing to Stamford.

That is more or less my reasoning to. Early on I said BC is usually a toss up. Cal is just a weird unknown at this point. They win some, loose others you wouldn't expect. 9 is definitely dooable, but I feel 8 is more realistic, and like you said, it may be 7 depending imo on how morale and some things play out.

FSU...

Form of a question? Who are the Seminoles? Honestly if we loose against Cal considering FSU this year beat them, we got issues.
I just go by history

Cuse has done poorly playing out west. UNLV was a positive step...but I'm assuming Cal will not be easy or a penciled in win.

other than UConn every is a toss up which usually means a split I think we win 4 more Here are my wins

Uconn, Cal, BC, Miami

UNLV was amazing. CAL was on my iffy list from the start. Considering their losses, and then the Cal wins it still on the iffy list. Ironically, most of the teams we are all iffy on have not played another team we played this year until after we played them, so now the iffy list gets more iffy to loss... Stanford messed up the year straight and simple. Pitt, well that has been going on for years in many ways and not really unexpected except the margin and performance.

That was the best defensive play of the game on our end. It wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game, but it was so frustrating.

Win out, you get to 10-2 (6-2 in the ACC). This is more than likely not enough to make the ACC title game. Chances of Miami, Clemson, SMU, Pitt getting to 2 ACC losses are extremely slim and even then, not sure we pass them in a tie breaker.

End up with a Sun Bowl, Music City Bowl, Military Bowl, Pinstripe Bowl etc.
Obviously best case is win the remaining five games. Likely is split the conference games and beat UConn to get to 8-4.

I honestly don't care about the bowl games as much as I used to but going 8-4 or better will help with recruiting and that is the key.

I think we stomp VT, I don’t know why other than I feel like this team needs it and so do we after that game. I think we are ready to play a home game and it will be a different performance this week.

Then we are 6-2. If we just put up a strong performance against VT, the vibes will turn again and we will be saying “going into Miami game 9-2 is very realistic”.

I truly think we just need a good reset week where we click, and I think that’s Saturday. We are so due. I think everyone on the team knows this is the biggest game of the year. (Every game here on out truly is expect ucant).

For once, it’s time for Cuse to go on a late run. I think we enter Miami game with 3 losses max. Lay it all on the line November 30th. That’s going to be our Super Bowl this year.

I won’t say UConn is a tossup, but it’s far from a sure thing.
They play a lot of close games, some put them in a good light(close losses to Duke and Wake) some do not (close wins against terrible Temple and Rice)

Mac’s guys. They were very talented in that era, much more than now.
So P was Larry Coker essentially?

I think P was a good coach and was ready to succeed on day 1
I think Fran is a good coach and can succeed on day 1

we need to lose that thought of "let's give it time to marinate". it's professional sports now. There isn't rebuilds anymore. It's reload yearly

Are we still doing this?
