Too bad we won’t hear from Rocky Long but wow Beck and SD, this will be a treat!

I'm surprised no one mentioned this previously, but in the signing day presser Babers commented about Long's team introduction talk. He basically said Long blew everyone away including the coaches. Babers himself said he was ready to go play after listening and that players stopped by his office afterwards and just seemed like a wow moment. I'll have to go back and listen to get the exact words but I got the impression the man can motivate and everyone was pretty jacked up after hearing him out.

I had the pleasure of attending Long coached SDSU games for a decade. You guys are in for a treat in saying how much players are going to love him. White was great but this is next level.

It was fun listening to the coaches and players. The coaches raved about Dino and the culture he’s created. Beck said he’s a better coach because of Dino. Both coordinators are home run hires. Shrader and Wax are excited and looking forward to what’s ahead. Sellers needs to hear what Beck and Shrader had to say.

Peterson has been working with the first team. He moved into a top spot opposite Johnson when Wilson entered the portal, although he was only there briefly.

That doesn't change the potential issues with depth at CB. Right now, we only have 4 scholarship corners: Johnson, Peterson, Wilson and Delaine. Three of those are true freshman. The fifth corner, C. Masters is a walk-on.

Last spring Master got a lot of work with the second team opposite Wilson. Right before the spring game the coaches moved Foster (an early enrollee scholarship freshman) to second team ahead of Masters. That did not go well for Foster, and Masters was moved back to second team during the spring game.

I would like to see Masters get some playing time in the bowl game.

Also have heard Shrader reference Villari a couple times now. He must like working with him and thinks he can get there at TE. Big athletic guy that played QB likely reads the defense different. Would imagine that helps with hot routes and finding spots in zone coverage.
