Pitt Dome Attendance

At best students make up 10% of a capacity crowd. Them being on break really isn't the driver of attendance.

I hope most people are done with complaining about attendance. It is what it is. Win more and people will show up.

Hopefully alumni coming in for the big game will make up for the lack of students.

301 & 302 are louder than the student section. ;) We will all be there, so all is well...

Repping 302

Don't be so sensitive, I wasn't blaming anyone. It's misplaced to go after the students because of math, that's all.

since when??

definetly had classes up till tuesday, maybe even wednesday.
We definitely had classes on Wednesday - maybe only Wednesday morning. And we had to walk to school uphill... Both ways! These kids have it easy today.

at least with the student package the pitt game will have decent numbers if not bodies.. not sure what to expect for the bc game.. the school knows the numbers as they stand and they arent doing any promotion yet. we could be sitting on 25-30 for he BC game.

Not sensitive. Just busting chops of certain posters.

looking on ticketmaster there are tons of tickets available for bc as most sections are dark blue

I'm not sure pitt will be 2nd to last game every year I could see that one moving around but I do expect bc to be the last game yearly

If this game was at 3:30 I think the crowd would have been decent. The 12:30 start will kill it though. In the range of 37,000-40,000 will be announced. The amount in the building will be less than that though

That would be sad and half the crowd will be gone at halftime even if the Cuse is leading.

Cuse football marketing has to be one of the worse in college athletics.

and again what is SU doing to try and get people in the stands?

Well, they are begging in the local newspaper, if that helps.

They have offered a $79 ticket package for tickets to Pitt, BC and the Indiana hoops game. That's a pretty good deal.

Cheapest ticket in the ACC.

Gameday experience is very weak. I love the Dome, historically speaking, but until they improve parking, concessions and the actual seats (get rid of the benchs), it's still going to be inferior to watching the game at home. There are about 5 or 6 hoops games a year with great atmosphere (granted a couple more this year with the new schedule), but most of the time, the Dome is a crappy environment. That's a big part of the problem. I'd like to see a new stadium with ample parking, bigger hallways, better and more bathrooms, better concessions, etc. Watching a game in the Dome is like watching a game in an airplane hangar.

I think the diehard students will stick around for this game. The question is - how many diehard students do we have?

The students who will stick around are the students who live around the greater Syracuse area. Nothing to do with being a diehard, really.

Thanksgiving break is a time when a lot of students are looking forward to getting home and I doubt a Syracuse/Pitt game will change any of that.

The entire week off is also relatively new. We had classes until Tuesday, although many would just take the entire week off anyway. Week off makes most sense- especially for those traveling a long way home.

I guess it's a matter of perspective. After sitting outside at Archbold, I was in awe of the Dome when it opened. As a matter of fact, I still am. To be able to watch November football in shirtsleeves in Syracuse is AWESOME! I don't require much more than that.

you can beg in the paper , but who gets the paper that only shows up a couple days a week now. also the $79 promotion is great for 3 game deals.. that also means you are committing to a 3 game deal. you get an awful bball ticket and have to want to go to a game after tkey day..

Ticketmaster is looking like a Wagner like crowd.

Creature comforts are nice, but ultimately it's all window dressing. 48K showed up from Clemson. If the team were 8-2 and ranked #15 right now we'd get at least 46-47K for Pitt and BC.

I have been to maryland, Virginia, BC, ....sorry the same problems we face so do other on campus stadiums. Walked long walks to get to seats, small individual tailgating sites, expensive concessions ect..... those excuses just dont hold water IMO. Individual seats forget it very few college stadiums offer individual seats except for maybe a few thousand high end donars on midfield.

I brought my BC friends to the game 3 years ago and it was frigid outside that day. The wives were so happy to be in the dome for the game.

Plus they sell beer unlike pretty much any other school and when its loud and rocking the dome is great.
