Pitt OC resigns before Peach Bowl

Yeah... posters love to bemoan the disadvantages of Syracuse's location, but Nebraska is far more isolated, desolate, cold and depressing. As you say, Pitt is currently in a far better place as a program right now vs. Nebraska as well. Some boosters probably ponied up.
Clearly you’ve never been to Lincoln. It’s an awesome town. People are great. They BLEED husker football. Never met people more into football than folks from Lincoln.

That's great, I'm sure it is, but that has literally nothing to do with what I posted.

They were in every game this year down to the last possessions. Omaha Nebraska is a dynamic region, Warren Buffet's HQ is there. Starting next season, they will dominate the B1G west.
Spent many days with him and he will tell anyone who will listen that there is an abundance of entrepreneurs in the region.
Do some research its actually pretty amazing.
I moved from Syracuse to ND to start my first company when i was 23. My next company was funded by Nebraska and i moved to Omaha in the mid 80s which is when i met Warren. Omaha was very small at the time but had an excellent business environment and a group of business leaders including Warren who cared and could cut through the B.s and get things done. It was a magical time and im still friends with and do business with many of those guys.
Syracuse had the same but it lacked good governance and traded off the profits of companies vs supporting them. Im not sure when things tipped but NYs lack of forward thinking and poor leadership has put the State in a terrible position.

It's a dark age in NY. For instance. Our family used to camping in the Adirondacks when I was a kid, 60's and 70's. Usually Raquette Lake. I've gone back there recently with my cousin to camp and no improvements have been made. The bathrooms and the showers are atrocities, cracks in the floors and wall, overflowing toilets, just horrible. In most other states these amenities would be new and modern and very enjoyable to use. Very sad.

Nebraska is close to being a power again. You can win a Championship at Nebraska. B1G west is not that strong.
Their window is closing quickly with UMASS's invitation pending.

(I'm told it's imminent)

I think a UCONN/UMASS combo is a very appealing potential expansion for the Big12, B1G, and the ACC.

For the last year or so we have been looking to expand in the US. Not a huge amount of jobs but over a 100 all close to 6 figures. Long story short we will most likely be in SC Greenville as the upstate dev group cant come close.

Peak CousCuse responding to his own conference realignment posts.

You made my day!
It was an addendum addressed to Enviro guy who probably works for the state park system.

You know that Santa monitors this board and does so especially closely this time of year?

Santa oppressed Rudolph because he was different and then had the nerve to ask for his help when his empire was going to go down the drain.

1) Santa asked for Rudolph’s help for the children, It was not for his personal gain.

2) So you are saying a little prejustice to one mutant reindeer is worse than making billons of children happy every year?

Think careful before answering.

It doesn't absolve santa of being a miscreant. He also employed that coach Prancer(Sandusky) who also victimized Rudolph because of his birth defect. Real nasty bunch up there. If I were Rudolph I would have said I will drive your sleigh for half your take and you banish prancer down to Canada where they hunt reindeer.

This thread has de-railed.

I thought you had a sense of humour. If you don't laugh, you'll cry, which seems like the in thing these days.

I had a significant operation in Omaha and had an opportunity to work with some of the business leaders at West, Berkshire and others. There is an enormous amount of wealth and intellectual capital there. Same with ND SD and Kansas. Those states have done an excellent job adapting and taking advantage of their strengths. NY on the other hand has never been able to get anything going North of the City. Ive tried numerous times but dealing with economic dev groups in the State is a nightmare.
They simply are not competitive.
Friend told me this story. Polaris wanted to build a new snow mobile plant. Central/Northern NY and one of the Dakotas were the finalists. In NY, the red tape and layers drove them away. In the other state, one person had the ear of the decision maker, and things got done. Lost hundreds of jobs
