PITT Postgame

And as I said about JJ- GREAT GAME! Don’t let the haters get to you my friend. I see you and I saw so many unselfish and outstanding passes yesterday that nobody will credit you with!! And he was on fire, still made the extra pass so many times. Like you say, please stop reading this board and no thinking! Go do what you were born to do my man… we’re all rooting for you despite the incessant public criticism on here.

Completely agree. That said, I really hope JJ doesn't read comments on this board. That would just not be a very good idea.

I'd like to see an honest discussion of the merits (or lack thereof) of Red's "mass substitutions." There must be reasons for why he does it, but in general I would say the results are seldom positive. Don't remember our Hall of Fame coach doing that, but I guess that's neither here or there.
Normally not a good thing, however if the Coach truly believes he has a talented enough group, you try to develop that. Defined roles, almost gives you a second team with change ups. Key is, you have to have the right mix. Coach B never when past 7 deep in most cases. You also have to know when you DON'T have that mix.

I agree but what would you do my man?? I couldn’t help it if I was an overthinker and knew this was here

I would certainly hope that I would stay a million miles from an internet discussion board. That just ain't healthy. That said, we knew that Jim read our stuff even though he acted like it was beneath him. I know the temptation would be hard not to but that just can't be good for your mental health.

According the game by game efficiency stats on Torvik, this game was SU's best offensive game of the season by far, like not even close. As for defense, it was good, but within their season's range. For Pitt, it was a poor defensive outing, but not anomalous and their offensive game was about their average.

Current projected record has improved to 18-13 and 9-9 in conference.

Again, you’re welcome.

Interesting kenpom situation. Miami is the 8th best ACC rating at 36. Syracuse is 9th at 60. Pretty big gap right now between the upper and the lower level teams, and we play mostly higher level teams in the second half of the schedule. Lots of opportunities, but lots of pressure to not have any miss steps going into the last half of the season.
