Are most of us cheering for Pitt? - or should I say against Virginia Tech? This one goes out to you Coach Beamer from my friends Norm and Cliff.

Would prefer not to have Pitt and BC fighting for bowl eligibility going into those final two games...

Also, Boyd is going to be a load to handle... May have to triple team this guy...

I don't mind when Pitt beats Ped St, West Virginia, V Tech, and BC. I don't really openly root for them except v Ped State.

if you dont like either one and really want the program to be better long term Pitt is the one we want to lose. they effect us much more than VT.. they are dieing on the vine anyway.

VaTech's offense is not looking good at all. This Brewer guy looks awful.

I couldn't root for VT if they were playing the Taliban.

Having said that, I kind of want Pitt's season to continue to fall apart, so I'll feel better about beating them.

Either way, I win.

Nice to see all our lowlights against FSU and highlights against ND. I don't think they've shown either against anyone else in this segment. And the segment wasn't about comparing common opponents.

Most of the time, you root for the team that you'll be playing so a win against them looks better/means more.
So root for Pitt.

But perception doesn't matter this year, we just need wins for bowl eligibility. The weaker the remaining opponent the better.
So root against Pitt.

We all hate Virginia Tech and everything they stand for.
So root for Pitt.

We play Pitt every year and it would be nice to have some serious hate against them.
So root against Pitt.

Who are we more likely to be slotted next to in the ACC bowl pecking order?
Root against them.

In summary, I don't know. Just root for each teams defense to lay a beating on the opposing offense and rationalize the final score however you want.

Pitt QB keeps running, he may not make it out of this game. Took a wicked hit in first half

VT looks like dogsh!t. So that's pretty funny.

The drumbeat for Beamer to hang 'em up in a season when he won at Columbus is funny. To me anyway.

Pitt. Light crowd there.

That's actually a typical Pitt crowd.

Just an awful atmosphere in that stadium for college football.

Is there some way they both could lose?

Has any school consistently pulled off the NFL stadium share with good attendance?

ASU. Oh wait that was the other way around.

Yeah, the Cardinals playing in "Sun Devil" Stadium.

Other than Arizona State, trying to think what P5 schools playing in NFL cities actually get good support. I wouldn't count those that are an hour or two away like Georgia, Michigan, Texas, Wisconsin, LSU, Mizzou.

Washington Huskies come to mind as probably the best other example. The others are fringe level support at best. Minnesota, GT, BC, Pitt, Miami, Vandy.

Did I mention that it's funny that VT lost?

pitt would've been better renovating pitt stadium and reducing capacity.

Agree, but they decided to build a basketball arena on that space. Which has worked out well for them in terms of giving life to their hoops program.

When Heinz Field was new, it was helping them recruit. But it has been open 14 years now, and just seems like the symbol of a lack of homefield advantage at this point. Maybe Pitt fans disagree with me, but I agree with you, schools like that should do what Minnesota did.

man do i wish we'd gotten placed in the other division.

Yeah, I was a bit on the fence about that with Maryland in our division last year. Now with Ville in their place and Tech, Miami and NC looking pretty bad, I agree. They need to move Clemson or FSU to the Coastal and put Pitt in the Atlantic, that would balance things off a lot better. A lot of teams will be up and down but FSU and Clemson will always be football factories and they need to be split up.
