Yeah, I was a bit on the fence about that with Maryland in our division last year. Now with Ville in their place and Tech, Miami and NC looking pretty bad, I agree. They need to move Clemson or FSU to the Coastal and put Pitt in the Atlantic, that would balance things off a lot better. A lot of teams will be up and down but FSU and Clemson will always be football factories and they need to be split up.
These things can be cyclical though. ACC needs to decide if they think long term FSU and Clemson are going to consistently be 1-2, or if they think Miami, VT will eventually get back to where they were. In recent history (call it 15 years), that would be 4 teams that could most consistently be in the Top 20. I think all of the other teams fall in that might occasionally be in the Top 25 category, so no reason to do anything about that from a competitive standpoint. Do VT and Miami drop in that group? If so, then it's in the league's best interest to split FSU and Clemson.
