play scared from the opening tip

Sgt Cuse said:
The thing is, we had the early lead like 10-4 or something. So the idea that we were scared from the opening tip didn't make sense to me.

To me, the unfortunate scenario was we caught them tight to start and that after the nerves settled the game would go to form. They were/are a very good number 1 seed for a reason.

Roberson got a couple put backs early on badly missed shots, and we scored on a couple runouts after turnovers. That was basically it. We passed up open looks, missed badly on a bunch of shots, werent being aggressive. We were definitely playing tight in the 1st half. In an elite 8 game you usually see teams come out super hyped and intense and aggressive, i thought we came out flat. But they sure made up for it!

The great thing about these threads is when you're wrong, they're hilarious reads the day after as you continue to relive the comeback.

We can tease each other for them, but not a 'Cuse fan in the world truly expected to win down 16 early in the second half. Doesn't mean we gave up, or stopped hoping, but I'm sure those of you who didn't post on here or call "Game!" in the chat thread did it in your head. Then you keep watching on the (apparently 3% according to FiveThirtyEight) chance that the miracle will happen and you can gladly eat some crow afterward.

Nothing beats the calls to bench Malachi or for him to stop shooting in the game thread, though.

Just FYI, if we're down big to UNC, every one of you better be posting the exact same negative stuff. I want calls to bench everyone, fire JB, stop everyone from shooting. It's apparently good luck and it's fun to read after we win.

Check that time stamp good sir

CorduroyG---- you are hereby complete absolved from jumping to conclusions and the resultant post! As avid fans we are all subject to letting the emotion subvert the intellect. Anyone who claims that they have been immune to such thinking are being selectively forgetful at best and patently dishonest at worst.

So it's refreshing to see you haven't taken any of the ribbing you've gotten here to heart. It's all good and it's a wonderful thing that we can all appreciate the humor in it and the fact that we have a team that is capable of staging the type of comeback that most people can only dream about.

Post on! my friend! post on!.
