we have zero answer for any sort of decent post play. The kid is huge and has looked promising in the very limited minutes he’s seen this year. Not sure how or why JBA sees minutes before him. Why not at least try him for a 4 minute spurt??

I'm not opposed to giving Jesse a shot but I think people are making too much of his 3 points in garbage time vs BC.
Believe me, I’m not. Just looking at how he has moved around in his limited minutes. Seems to at least deserve a chance.

I think it was Williams that bounced into JBA in the first half, and JBA fell back all the way to the free throw line. If that was Mbarra he may have ended up in Utica.
Exactly.

I never understand how we redshirt bigs at this school. They come in their first games after sitting and watching while practicing every day, and it looks like they never played hoops before. They're all so soft.

We need Sid back. Pure and simple.
I'm very interested and a bit nervous about Sid coming back. You take one of the three forwards of Marek, Quincy, and Griff on the bench. If that happened tonight, we lose I think. If it's anyone but Marek going to sit. We needed Q and Griff and their boards and scoring.

There is another side of the floor. And right now, our defense is lacking. To say the least. We need a big body. Plus, we have a Hall of Fame coach. He should be able to set the minutes so that people are in when they should be in. I have said it so many times this year it is getting old, even to me. but the pieces are there for us to be a very good team. And we have been very fortunate to beat bryant, northeastern and Buffalo at home. I might find myself saying it after we are 10-17. But I really like the make potential make up of this team.

And. yet some people think that practice is all you need to become a good player.

Players get good by playing the game. Live opposition is so different from practice, in any sport.

Hate to say it but when Sid comes back we need Q and Griff with him.
That's what I'm thinking as well. Both are multi-dimensional. But I hate the idea of losing Marek's passing and assists. Those 2 charges he took tonight were big as well. Feels like that rotation will be a harder decision for Jb than the guard decisions.

Wins are wins but as I’ve said the manner of them matters in the big picture. I refuse to truly believe in games where the opponent- and these teams aren’t acc teams- is scoring in the paint at will, we can just say none of our 3(!) centers can help. I understand our starter is sidibe and I understand injuries force teams to adjust. But we still have 3(!) centers on the team! When have we ever had 4 on a team? Never. Literally never.

Sidibe can’t play heavy minutes even normally, let alone after surgery. Imo.

Marek can still get 10-15 minutes at C, and another 10-15 at forward. IMO. It really shouldn’t be that hard to play 4 guys at 3 spots, lol. But this is where we are.

Unless we’re going to keep playing Woody consistently, but I’m not optimistic there.

Edwards makes Marek look like Hercules. Not strong enough to defend the bigs we saw today.
What happened to Anselem?

I think if we played any of the three any minutes tonight, we would have lost. I think JB thought so to. We both might be wrong. But as you say, wins are wins. And at some point in early March, we might find ourselves very happy we have that win.
