Yep that's a great point.I agree but I wonder if that makes it easier to get caught - how much is wagered on these level games? I would think $50 would raise a flag.
Why bother? It comesWell, maybe they were paid to suck...
Neon Boudeaux didn’t even ask for a Lexus so why give it to him and risk exposure? Never made sense to me.That was Nick Nolte’s downfall in Blue Chips. You had Dicky V calling Western games. Needed to be more low key.

It's $25 for a Boston College gameI agree but I wonder if that makes it easier to get caught - how much is wagered on these level games? I would think $50 would raise a flag.

Might be less than $25. BC average home attendance this year 3,569It's $25 for a Boston College game![]()
if you are making prop bets on mid/low major games it will absolutely catch the attention of the . you are most likely either a sharp/running models, involved in a bet manipulation or just a complete gambling addict and the books will monitor accordingly.I agree but I wonder if that makes it easier to get caught - how much is wagered on these level games? Ha. My first thought when they released the list was “players in the SEC fixed so many games that they had to arrest the entire Southern Conference”.No P4 teams?
Sure Jan.
The case for fixing games against Syracuse in the NCAA tournament starts and ends with the 2012 game vs Ohio St. Lots of suspicion the ncaa did not want the Bernie Fine storyline advancing to the FF.I’ve definitely said this on the board before so I’m going to sound like a broken record. But I feel so strongly about it:
In the Sweet 16 game against Gonzaga, Trevor Cooney being called “out of bounds” on the baseline by the referee at mid court screams foul play to me. There is absolutely no way that referee could’ve seen him step out, even if his toe had touched the line. For him to blow his whistle when the baseline ref didn’t call it is insane.
Thank god Syracuse went on to win that game. I’m not one to complain about officials but that seemed so crooked I would still be losing sleep over it had they lost.
I don't think it was crooked. Just bad. That call, next to a tech called by Booker Turner in the 1980 sweet 16 game against Iowa still rankle me. That and Jody Sylvester costing us the G-town game in MSG in 1984. Those three calls.I’ve definitely said this on the board before so I’m going to sound like a broken record. The other five defendants were described by authorities as fixers. At least two of the defendants, Shane Hennen and Marves Fairley, were also charged in a federal indictment in the Eastern District of New York centered on gambling schemes in the NBA.
Former NBA player Antonio Blakeney was named but not charged in the indictment. The indictment describes Blakeney as being "charged elsewhere."
The scheme, according to the 70-page indictment, began around September
Supporting a losing cause seems like a fireable offense! LolApparently he diverted funds to cuomo’s nyc campaign. That was a questionable move on a number of levels.

I was told by a staff member at the time that it was no storyline. It was more than smoke. The rumblings were out there, and our people found things out after the fact. Syracuse wasn’t going to that Final Four if the NCAA had anything to say about it. Exactly as you stated, the NCAA wanted no part of the Bernie Fine story. The case for fixing games against Syracuse in the NCAA tournament starts and ends with the 2012 game vs Ohio St. Lots of suspicion the ncaa did not want the Bernie Fine storyline advancing to the FF.
Refs get out of bounds calls wrong all the time. That isn’t what bothers me. It’s how the referee from near midcourt made the call. I think it’s not even possible that the official could’ve seen Cooney step out of bounds from that vantage point.I don't think it was crooked. Just bad. I know that. Some refs want to make the big call. even if the big call isn't there. That is what I think happened there. Don't misunderstand this. I am still mad about that call and it's been 10 years and we wonRefs get out of bounds calls wrong all the time. That isn’t what bothers me. It’s how the referee from near midcourt made the call. We should have just played Fab and gone all the way.
